Bureaucrats travel first class

THE fight against global warming has globe-trotting bureaucrats attending more than one international climate conference every week. Department of Climate Change staff flew first class to 64 global climate change meetings in just 12 months at a cost of more than $4 million. A Senate committee heard that 93 staff went to destinations including Greenland, the Maldives, Japan, the US and Bolivia. The trips cost taxpayers more than $2.74 million in airfares and $1.6 million for accommodation and meals.

The Government's special envoy on climate change, Howard Bamsey, was the biggest spender, racking up $229,000 in travel costs during 2009-10.

He was followed by climate change ambassador Louise Hand, who spent $192,000 on travel over the same period.

All you Leftie big government lovers who claim that no one has a vested interest in the hoax being pushed by the UN... read the above and try to understand. This is not about science... It is about politics and corruption.

Stupid is as stupid does

We are all stupid today.

Or at least that's what Leftie Senator Kerry tells us.

BOSTON—Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry unleashed a broadside Thursday against Republican "obstructionism," saying the GOP and its talk-show allies have created a "period of know-nothingism" in the country.

With his party braced for defeats in the midterm elections, .... (Kerry said)....that a Republican machine -- fueled by talk show hosts such as Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck -- has undermined progress and misled the public into believing Democrats created the country's current economic problems.

Kerry singled out attacks on an energy deal he was negotiating with Republicans, which fell apart amid criticism of an emissions-trading program. Some 20 Senate candidates are now opposing the proposed deal in their campaigns.

"It's absurd. We've lost our minds," said a clearly exasperated Kerry. "We're in a period of know-nothingism in the country, where truth and science and facts don't weigh in. It's all short-order, lowest common denominator, cheap-seat politics."

Well, there were videos showing Obamie voters as examples of dumbness during the last election.

Obama Voters

I wonder when they all changed into Repubs????

Obamacare and Dhimmitude

One of my buds sent me the following. Kind of interesting

Remember when the moron speaker of the house, Nancy Pelosi, made that incredibly stupid statement, "we have to pass the healthcare bill in order to see what's in it"? Well, here is just another little tidbit of what is actually in it!!

Dhimmitude

What does it mean? Obama used it in the health care bill. Now, isn't this interesting? It was used in the health care law. Every day there's another revelation of what Obama and his fellow Democrats are doing to our country.

Dhimmitude -- I had never heard the word until now. Type it into Google and start reading. Pretty interesting. It's on page 107 of the healthcare bill. I looked this up on Google and yep, it exists. It is a REAL word. Amish and others are excluded, including Muslims. I think I could become Amish a whole lot easier than Muslim.

Word of the Day: Dhimmitude

Dhimmitude is the Muslim system of controlling non-Muslim populations conquered through jihad. Specifically, it is the TAXING of non-Muslims in exchange for tolerating their presence AND as a coercive means of converting conquered remnants to Islam.

Obama Care allows the establishment of Dhimmitude and Sharia Muslim diktat in the United States. Muslims are specifically exempted from the government mandate to purchase insurance, and also from the penalty tax for being uninsured. Islam considers insurance to be "gambling", "risk-taking", and "usury" and is thus banned. Muslims are specifically granted exemption based on this.

How convenient. So I, as a Christian, will have crippling IRS liens placed against all of my assets, including real estate, cattle, and even accounts receivables, and will face hard prison time because I refuse to buy insurance or pay the penalty tax. Meanwhile, Louis Farrakhan will have no such penalty and will have 100% of his health needs paid for by the de facto government insurance. Non-Muslims will be paying a tax to subsidize Muslims. Period.

This is Dhimmitude
.

Since we posted our article, we’ve obtained a list through the Freedom of Information Act of all the groups that have successfully applied for exemptions from payroll taxes. (We have posted the Excel file here.) The overwhelming majority of them are explicitly Anabaptist — that is, Mennonite, Amish or Hutterite. Those that don’t specify their denomination are still explicitly Christian. Having gone through the list, we can say with certainty that no Muslim group, and indeed no non-Christian group, has ever qualified for an exemption under the statute used to define exempt religious groups in the health care law.

Nor are they likely to want to, says Ibrahim Hooper of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which opposes discrimination and defamation against Muslims.

That is called a qualifier phrase. What that means is they can change their minds.

Now. One other thing.

If you want to debate, keep it civil. The next time you write "deal with it" or somegthing similar I will delete the comment.

Acting like an adult may be hard, but here it is a requirement.

Don't start a fight and then whine

Regarding the parking lot fight.

Pleaseeeeeeeeee.

We all know about the attacks last year in St Louis and in FL by the Left. We all know that Obamie's DOJ has refused to prosecute the New Black Panthers for a clear undeniable case of voter intimidation.

People who have for the first time become engaged in the political process have been continually and on national media lied about and called racists and "tea baggers," a well known insulting sexual term.

They watched their Vice Presidential candidate be lied about and insulted time and again.

What this has done is create an atmosphere of anger and tension.

Remember the expression, "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore?"

The Left has sown the wind.

Into this atmosphere came this woman. Her intent was to insult and challenge. She started a fight and it got out of control.

The results were regrettable and I hope the people who attacked her are prosecuted so that the facts can be known. At this point some are saying that she was held down by the guy's foot after she had attacked Paul's car and shoved a sign in the window. Some are saying she was forced away and then came back before she was put down. I don't know and the tapes may be misleading.

But stop with the crocodile tears. We all know what the base cause of this was. If you still don't know.....

Look in the mirror. The Left has lit a fuse. Let us pray that reason prevails.

Why we aren't creating new jobs.

This comes from Mostly Cajun and is just too good not to copy.

1861 – The Pony Express officially ceased operations, put out of business by the modern technology. Today they’d lobby a few congressmen and get a stimulus package for the Pony Express and have them put a federal tax on each mile of telegraph lines, a per-message tax on each message, and EPA would be filing a restraining order preventing telegraph operation until a study was completed on the effects of the telegraph line’s magnetic field on the western short-snouted warble toad.

Pretty well explains everything, eh?

Molly Norris

Not every person who has the nerve to publicly discuss Islam has Bill O'Reilly to cover their back and FNC sign them to million dollars contracts.

Some run into big time trouble.

Watch NPR capitulate and then watch journalists who value their careers become increasingly uneasy about covering or discussing Islamic radicalism, peaceful Islam - any Islam.
There should be no surprise there. As an old and wise lawyer told me one time, "You know you're right. I know you're right. But by the time this is over no one will care if you are right or wrong."

As they say over at Gates of Vienna this is a new phase of a very old war. But I digress.

Let's look at what is happening to someone who dared speak out.

If you can ever find the Seattle cartoonist Molly Norris ask her about religious tolerance. Norris has reportedly gone "ghost" after finding herself on an Islamic terror hit list for her insulting cartoon. (Let me know when a journalist makes an atheist, Mormon or papal hit list.)

Free speech didn't exactly work out that well for Molly. There was only a faint outcry about her predicament. The tolerance crowd was busy smearing anyone who didn't like idea of a mosque near ground zero a bigot.

Link

Anyone on the Left willing to defend free speech? No? Well, that's not unexpected.

In fact, it is the usual response of the Left.

Portions of the abvove were published in the Jackson Sun.

The 11 per centers of the Tea Party and how journalist distort for their Masters

So we have a poll. Of course we have no idea how many people were asked, their location, their backgrounds, the actual questions or who asked the questions.

In fact we have no actual proof that they attended local Tea Party meetings.

But we do know that the claim is this.

“Eleven percent said that Obama's race, religion or ethnic background was either a "very important" or "somewhat important" factor in the support their group has received.”

Washington Post

Now that’s pretty “loosey goosey” to use to start condemning a whole group of people. Especially since saying something like, “Muslims attacked us on 9/11” or “When I see a Muslim in traditional garb getting on an airplane I get nervous” can get you condemned, referred to a psychiatrist or fired.

But hey! What do we expect? No double standards??

But let’s return to the 11%. Was that 9% “very important” and “2% somewhat important” or was it “9% somewhat Important” and “2% very important?” I mean that is a huge difference.

The health of my wife and children is very important to me. The health of my friends is somewhat important.

And we just don’t know. The results are incomplete and unclear at best. Deliberately misleading at worst.

And which was it? His race? His religion? Or his ethinic background? I’m confused here. He had a Black Muslim father and a white mother. So what’s the difference between ethnic background and race? What is his race? I know he self identifies as black, but isn’t the answer “mixed?”

His ethnic background is also mixed, raised as a Muslim until he was 10 then raised as a middle class child in Hawaii with noted influence from socialist and communist people.

And then we have the religion issue. Was the question framed so that it emphasized that the President’s religion is Black Liberation Theology? Was it noted that his Preacher cursed America while Obama continued to attend that church? Was it noted that nearly one in 5 Americans think he is Muslim? And if it was, wouldn’t that disturb some people and cause a “concerned” type response?

Guardian

When you ask questions such as this you are asking complex questions that, if you are doing a poll, would require very well defined parameters.

I mean it is easy to see that some people would say, “I don’t give a flip about his claiming to be black, but his early childhood raising and later socialist/communist associations bother me.”

Yet all these questions are just lumped together. That isn’t journalism. That’s water carrying for Democrats.

I just got push polled

The call came at about 7PM, the caller ID showed 202 640 5113.

Would I take few poll questions???

Why yes. Why not I answered, noting that the questioner was a machine.

Who will you vote for State Representative? Will you vote for (name deleted) or Y (name deleted). Press 1 for X and 2 for Y.

I pushed 2, which was for the Republican.

Immediately the machine said...

Are you aware that X voted to dump toxic wastes at... Press 1 for yes, 2 for no.

I pushed 1 for yes because the question was a lie. The vote was to store, not dump.

Then came the question I would never have guessed.

Are you white or black? Press 1 for white, 2 for black, 3 to skip the question.

What the heck, I thought. One lie deserves one in return.

I pressed 2.

"Click" the survey was terminated.

I guess blacks aren't  supposed to vote for Republicans!

It has came to this

[Airline Pilots travel to their plane by taking a "hop" aboard another airplane that takes them to their airplane's departure point. That's what this Pilot was trying to do -- Get to work! Government invasion of our private bodies has gone far enough! It's time to start PROFILING!]
Pilot to TSA: 'No Groping Me and No Naked Photos'
by Michael Roberts

October 15, 2010 – My name is Michael Roberts, and I am a pilot for ExpressJet Airlines, Inc., based in Houston (that is, I still am for the time being). This morning as I attempted to pass through the security line for my commute to work I was denied access to the secured area of the terminal building at Memphis International Airport. I have passed through the same line roughly once per week for the past four and a half years without incident. Today, however, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents at this checkpoint were using one of the new Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT) systems that are currently being deployed at airports across the nation. These are the controversial devices featured by the media in recent months, albeit sparingly, which enable screeners to see beneath people’s clothing to an extremely graphic and intrusive level of detail (virtual strip searching). Travelers refusing this indignity may instead be physically frisked by a government security agent until the agent is satisfied to release them on their way in what is being touted as an "alternative option" to AIT. The following is a somewhat hastily drafted account of my experience this morning.

As I loaded my bags onto the X-ray scanner belt, an agent told me to remove my shoes and send them through as well, which I’ve not normally been required to do when passing through the standard metal detectors in uniform. When I questioned her, she said it was necessary to remove my shoes for the AIT scanner. I explained that I did not wish to participate in the AIT program, so she told me I could keep my shoes and directed me through the metal detector that had been roped off. She then called somewhat urgently to the agents on the other side: "We got an opt-out!" and also reported the "opt-out" into her handheld radio. On the other side I was stopped by another agent and informed that because I had "opted out" of AIT screening, I would have to go through secondary screening. I asked for clarification to be sure he was talking about frisking me, which he confirmed, and I declined. At this point he and another agent explained the TSA’s latest decree, saying I would not be permitted to pass without showing them my naked body, and how my refusal to do so had now given them cause to put their hands on me as I evidently posed a threat to air transportation security (this, of course, is my nutshell synopsis of the exchange). I asked whether they did in fact suspect I was concealing something after I had passed through the metal detector, or whether they believed that I had made any threats or given other indications of malicious designs to warrant treating me, a law-abiding fellow citizen, so rudely. None of that was relevant, I was told. They were just doing their job.

Eventually the airport police were summoned. Several officers showed up and we essentially repeated the conversation above. When it became clear that we had reached an impasse, one of the more sensible officers and I agreed that any further conversation would be pointless at this time. I then asked whether I was free to go. I was not. Another officer wanted to see my driver’s license. When I asked why, he said they needed information for their report on this "incident" – my name, address, phone number, etc. I recited my information for him, until he asked for my supervisor’s name and number at the airline. Why did he need that, I asked. For the report, he answered. I had already given him the primary phone number at my company’s headquarters. When I asked him what the Chief Pilot in Houston had to do with any of this, he either refused or was simply unable to provide a meaningful explanation. I chose not to divulge my supervisor’s name as I preferred to be the first to inform him of the situation myself. In any event, after a brief huddle with several other officers, my interrogator told me I was free to go.

As I approached the airport exit, however, I was stopped again by a man whom I believe to be the airport police chief, though I can’t say for sure. He said I still needed to speak with an investigator who was on his way over. I asked what sort of investigator. A TSA investigator, he said. As I was by this time looking eagerly forward to leaving the airport, I had little patience for the additional vexation. I’d been denied access to my workplace and had no other business keeping me there.

"Am I under arrest?" I asked.

"No, he just needs to ask you some more questions."

"But I was told I’m free to go. So… am I being detained now, or what?"

"We just need to hold you here so he can…"

"Hold me in what capacity?" I insisted.

"Detain you while we…"

Okay, so now they were detaining me as I was leaving the airport facility.

We stood there awkwardly, waiting for the investigator while he kept an eye on me. Being chatty by nature, I asked his opinion of what new procedures might be implemented if someday someone were to smuggle an explosive device in his or her rectum or a similar orifice. Ever since would-be terrorist Richard Reid set his shoes on fire, travelers have been required to remove their footwear in the security line. And the TSA has repeatedly attempted to justify these latest measures by citing Northwest flight 253, on which Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab scorched his genitalia. Where, then, would the evolution of these policies lead next?

"Do you want them to board your plane?" he asked.

"No, but I understand there are other, better ways to keep them off. Besides, at this point I’m more concerned with the greater threat to our rights and liberties as a free society."

"Yeah, I know," he said. And then, to my amazement, he continued, "But somebody’s already taken those away."

"Maybe they have," I conceded, watching the throng of passengers waiting their turn to get virtually naked for the federal security guards.

As a side note, I cannot refrain here from expressing my dismay and heartbreak over a civil servant’s personal resignation to the loss of civil liberty among the people by whom he is employed to protect and serve. If he no longer affirms the rights and freedom of his fellow citizens, one can only wonder exactly what he has in view as the purpose of his profession.
The TSA investigator arrived and asked for my account of the situation. I explained that the agents weren’t allowing me to pass through the checkpoint. He told me he had been advised that I was refusing security screening, to which I replied that I had willingly walked through the metal detector with no alarms, the same way I always do when commuting to work. He then briefed me on the recent screening policy changes and, apparently confused, asked whether they would be a problem for me. I stated that I did indeed have a problem with the infringement of my civil rights and liberty.

His reply: "That’s irrelevant."

It wasn’t irrelevant to me. We continued briefly in the conversation until I recognized that we were essentially repeating the same discussion I’d already had with the other officers and agents standing by. With that realization, I told him I did not wish to keep going around and around with them and asked whether he had anything else to say to me. Yes, he said he did, marching indignantly over to a table nearby with an air as though he were about to do something drastic.

"I need to get your information for my report," he demanded.

"The officer over there just took my information for his report. I’m sure you could just get it from him."

"No, I have to document everything separately and send it to TSOC. That’s the Transportation Security Operations Center where we report…"

"I’m familiar with TSOC," I assured him. "In fact, I’ve actually taught the TSA mandated security portion of our training program at the airline."

"Well, if you’re an instructor, then you should know better," he barked.

"Really? What do you mean I ‘should know better’? Are you scolding me? Have I done something wrong?"

"I’m not saying you’ve done something wrong. But you have to go through security screening if you want to enter the facility."

"Understood. I’ve been going through security screening right here in this line for five years and never blown up an airplane, broken any laws, made any threats, or had a government agent call my boss in Houston. And you guys have never tried to touch me or see me naked that whole time. But, if that’s what it’s come to now, I don’t want to enter the facility that badly."

Finishing up, he asked me to confirm that I had been offered secondary screening as an alternative "option" to ATS, and that I had refused it. I confirmed. Then he asked whether I’d "had words" with any of the agents. I asked what he meant by that and he said he wanted to know whether there had been "any exchange of words." I told him that yes, we spoke. He then turned to the crowd of officers and asked whether I had been abusive toward any of them when they wanted to create images of my naked body and touch me in an unwelcome manner. I didn’t hear what they said in reply, but he returned and finally told me I was free to leave the airport.
As it turned out, they did reach the chief pilot’s office in Houston before I was able to. Shortly after I got home, my boss called and said they had been contacted by the TSA. I suppose my employment status at this point can best be described as on hold.

It’s probably fairly obvious here that I am outraged. This took place today (now yesterday, when I wrote all this down), 15 October 2010. Anyone who reads this is welcome to contact me for confirmation of the details or any additional information I can provide. The dialog above is quoted according to my best recollection, without embellishment or significant alteration except for the sake of clarity. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations for legal counsel – preferably a firm with a libertarian bent and experience resisting this kind of tyrannical madness.

This is not a left or right, red or blue state issue. The very bedrock of our way of life in this country is under attack from within. Please don’t let it be taken from us without a fight.

Did the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor??

Well, according to the ladies of The View, “No.”

At least if we follow their logic. It was Japanese Extremists.

Did Germans execute six million Jews?

Well, according to the lades of The View, “No.”

At least if we follow their logic it was German Extremists.

Of course they are over age, over weight, over paid and way past over stupid.

Seldom has a talking head on TV so exposed the hypocrisy of the Left as Bill O’Reilly did this. What started out as an exercise in crass commercialism… O’Reilly was just hucking his book…. turned into a screaming contest ending as two dames stalked off in high dungeon after O’Reilly pointed out that, yes, it was Muslims that attacked us on 9/ll.

The nerve of him to point out that it is going on 10 years and it is time for the world to accept the fact that it was Muslims who plotted, hijacked and flew the planes and crashed them into the towers, the Pentagon and who were forced into the ground in a Pennsylvania field.

As a country we have become so politically correct that we have become stupid. Worse, we let the terrorists define what we say and what we do. Can’t say “Muslims attacked…. Must say radical Muslims attacked….”

This is nuts. Why? Because by continually doing so we let the moderate Muslims off the hook. And that’s bad. Because it is the millions of moderate Muslims who suffer and it is they who must shut down the terrorists.

But who will tell them?

Darkness falls

Although the trial of Dutch MP and critic of Islam, Geert Wilders, and its serious implications for free speech in Europe, is once again creating a furor in the press, another high-profile trial of a critic of Islam -- Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, in Austria -- is being overlooked.
Ms. Sabaditsch-Wolff now faces up to a three-year prison sentence if convicted of "inciting hatred against a religious group" and "defamation of religion" in a lecture in 2009 on the "Islamization of Europe."

As allegedly criminal statements fill the indictments of "hate speech" prosecutions, as in the case with Mr. Wilders, the Dutch MP says that he has spoken the truth, and the truth cannot be illegal.

Unfortunately speaking the truth about Islam in Europe can get you arrested and if convicted, time in prison.

Even if Widers and Sabaditsch-Wolf win, the chilling effect on free speech is immense.

Her stories are undoubtedly disturbing: two of her non-Muslim friends were attacked for breaking the Ramadan fast – one, a Coptic Christian, was assaulted for licking stamps at a post office; the other, for chewing gum. On another occasion, apparently, when Mrs. Sabaditsch-Wolff sat in her apartment watching the 9/11 unfold on television, and her landlord burst in exclaiming that "the Jews did it," she asked him to leave.

Yes children, this is happening in Austria. In Europe. The same Europe that brought us Hitler is now bringing us another "ism."

How far behind will we be if we don't take back control of our society??

Two Republicans in every race!

I swear we have two Repubs running for every office.

But if you look at the fine print you will find at least one in each race is a Democrat.

Everyone of them are against illegal immigration, deficit spending, Obamacare.......pro defense...supports veterans...NRA members...

And none of them have ever heard of Obama. None of them. Never. Who's he????

I tell you it's amazing. Here we have these highly educated, well informed people wanting to be our representatives and senators yet they have never heard of Obama.

Even if I considered voting for one of them I couldn't.

They are obviously so poorly informed they don't deserve my vote.

I am not a great fan of

Paul Craig Roberts

He's a bit too negative for me, but....

For a number of years I reported on the monthly non-farm payroll jobs data. The data did not support the praises economists were singing to the "New Economy." The "New Economy" consisted, allegedly, of financial services, innovation, and high-tech services.

This economy was taking the place of the old "dirty fingernail" economy of industry and manufacturing. Education would retrain the workforce, and we would move on to a higher level of prosperity.

Time after time I reported that there was no sign of the "New Economy" jobs, but that the old economy jobs were disappearing. The only net new jobs were in lowly paid domestic services such as waitresses and bartenders, retail clerks, health care and social assistance (mainly ambulatory health care services), and, before the bubble burst, construction.

The facts, issued monthly by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, had no impact on the "New Economy" propaganda. Economists continued to wax eloquently about how globalism was a boon for our future.

The millions of unemployed today are blamed on the popped real estate bubble and the subprime derivative financial crisis. However, the U.S. economy has been losing jobs for a decade. As manufacturing, information technology, software engineering, research, development, and tradable professional services have been moved offshore, the American middle class has shriveled. The ladders of upward mobility that made American an "opportunity society" have been dismantled.

Why are we surprised??

I remember the late 60's when Toyota first came into the US followed by a host of others. Slowly they whittled away at our automotive industries and just sucked up the entertainment electronics industry and shrunk the telecommunications industry.

Twelve miles from where I write this there was a factory making telecommunications equipment that in 1966 worked three shifts and employed over three thousand people. A sister factory to the south employed around 2000 as did a factory 500 miles to the east.

About 40 miles to the west a small firm made TV tuners on contract to the large manufacturers and three miles from here a small firm made wiring assemblies and other products for the automotive industry/market.

To the north the "coat" factory made coats and near here shoes were made.

None of these exist today.

To be fair, the South played "beggar your neighnor" to the now "Rust Belt" by promising industries cheaper labor and low taxes. And the Japanese did open some electronic plants and some auto plantrs.

But on the whole those were PR sops and a bandaids.

The facts are that while we couldn't sell in Japan, and other countries, they could here. We deluded ourselves into thinking that we could stop building things, adding a value that someone else coud not.

There is a reason why a skilled mechanic makes more money than a waiter.

The value added by the mechanic is worth more and can be provided only by a decidedly smaller group who have more training and skills.

And to again be fair, the jobs slipped passed Japan into SE Asia and China.

But that doesn't help our shrinking middle class.

Do I have a solution? No. I don't.

Some say that the wages and working conditions around the world will catch
up and even out. But I doubt it. The unions were what expanded economic democracy by demanding higher wages and management was constrained by a knowledge of what it meant to be poor and while they were greedy, their greed was tempered by social responsibility.

China doesn't have unions but they do have Crony Capitialism. So don't expect China to change short of a war and regime change.

We still have unions but they are dedicated to promoting Left wing social issues and electing Democrats who they expect to give them more power. We also have Crony Capitialism, only it is more between Wall Street and Government than anything else.

The Tea Party offers some hope of reform but too many of these folks are more interested in making sure Paul doesn't smoke dope and that Jane doesn't marry Sue. Not, mind you, that I cease to be a fan of the Tea Party movement but they are just the tip of what must be changed.

Just over two years ago we bailed out Wall Street from their stupid tricks and unbounded greed. Yet 99.9% of the players suffered nothing for their actions. That's like letting a puppy diddle on the floor without even a strong, "No! No!" The puppy's reward for you will be another puddle and a pile of poop. Probably in the middle of the living room.

We don't know just yet how Wall Street will screw us again but they will.

Hat tip to Edger

I'm baaaacccckkkkk!

So I've been having these computer problems. Plus my back up, an old Compaq that has survived far longer than anyone could have expected, decided to retire after I downloaded MSINE 8. Probably no connection but I am a suspicious type. Especially since the problems with the prime compounded when I downloaded MSINE8. (See, I'm not as smart as I'm sure you thought I was!)

Then ATT did its part by proving that high speed DSL can come and go.

So between screwing around with the toys, going to Grandson's football games, mulching leaves and playing in a poker tournament (finished third, thank you) I haven't been doing what a good blogger does, blog. But hey! I'm a ROF!

So anyway on Sunday PM I convinced ATT that 600 KB isn't 1.5 MB and they fessed up to some "noise on the line." So being on a roll I decided, after the urging of Microsoft, to download some updates. The results? Fatal sytem error and the infamous blue screen.

After doing the usual growling and trying all the self tests, etc., I dug out the Toshiba recovery discs and spent a good part of yesterday going through the complete recovery bit.

Things are better now. All I have left is re-installing my printer and Kodak software. Plus all the content files which I had just backed up a week ago. I mean, talk about good timing.

Plus figure out how to activate MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint which the computer tells me is re-installed but I now have to return on. Yeah, I know. I bought and paid for it and have my receipt but no one is going to want to tell me how to do this.

War is hell in the Internet Age.
