Bits and pieces

I'm in a pissy mood. Started Monday night when that Kansas player made a shot that he would probably never make again and my Tigers went into a funk..

And I seem to remember that Billy Packer said something about this being 34 years he has done the final.... After listening to him and his sidekick emote about free throws and pressure..... Well, let me just say that it is time for him to retire. We don't need that shit. These, after all, are just kids who are doing something they will remember forever..... I mean no pressure there, right Billy P??

Hmmm, where did I learn "pissy mood...?" I think it was from a Brit bud in Dallas who said on 9/11. "Well, that puts me in a pissy mood." A masterful understatement, but then this was a guy who described WWII as a "bit of a go..." He also referred to Canada as that "Great Theme Park Up North" and said that Canada got its name because a bunch of guys were saying, "C, eh, N, eh, D, eh..." We had a branch in Montreal. I will leave out his descriptions of that group....

It continued Tuesday while listening to Glen Beck complain about loony conspiracy theorists and scare tactics and then telling us the economy is going into a depression and then telling us to buy gold.... Hey Glen! Love you bro, but don't you think that is somewhat of a conflict of interest??

It continued with finding out that the BBC's environmental reporter, see my post, couldn't stand up to some one who's chief claim to fame appears to be that he is a commentator on a Global Warming comment board on Yahoo.

I have several phrases that the reporter's actions bring to mind. Hero. Nerves of steel.... none of these are among them.

Then we had the handlers of Hussein's wife moving minorities around so that whites may be seen....... About 50 years later and blacks are still being pushed to the back of the bus...Man, that is just so wrong...so dishonest...

And then we had the standard insult to McCain, and our miliatry:

“McCain was a fighter pilot, who dropped laser-guided missiles from 35,000 feet. He was long gone when they hit,” Rockefeller told the newspaper, which published the article on the interview Tuesday.

“What happened when they [the missiles] get to the ground? He doesn’t know. You have to care about the lives of people. McCain never gets into those issues,” he is quoted saying.

Leaving aside that attack bombers don't attack from 35,000 feet and laser guided weapons weren't around, I can't help but opine:

Jay, as someone who once had to sign an agreement that I would participate in using nuclear weapons if they were ordered used.... well trust me. I knew what would happen if that occurred and McCain knew that people were being killed. Jay good buddy, it just happens in war. The issue is, do you want Americans killed or the other side's citizens killed. Take your time, Jay. It isn't a trick question.

Rockefeller offered an apology today to McCain. Note he doesn't include any other military people. Guess he didn't want to be one upped by Dick Durbin.

“While we differ a great deal on policy issues, I profoundly respect and appreciate his dedication to our country, and I regret my very poor choice of words,” he said.

And West Virginia has elected him how many times??? Gesh.

I think the expression was "West By God Virgina." It has now become. "Good God, West Virgina."

Of course Hussein remains silent. That's what old line Chicago mob bosses do.

And we have SF doing what they do best.

SAN FRANCISCO — The city of San Francisco has started an advertising push with a very specific target market: illegal immigrants. And while the advertisements will come in a bundle of languages — English, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Vietnamese — they all carry the same message: you are safe here.

I must remember to never visit them again. Besides, the poker and Mexican food is better in LA.

Of course the Lady Vols won number 8, and rather easily. Stanford was supposed to be poised to administer the coup de grace. Oh well, ESPN, disappointment is part of life...

And on the garden front my onions, cabbages and bell pepper plants are thriving. I have planted nothing else since Pope Algore's Global Warming is still fleeing from Global Cooling and rain, rain, rain..

Later dear chums.

Chuck Todd

from NBC writes:

But it is a faux lead. If the de facto Democratic nominee is clear within the next 4-6 weeks, that person will see a poll bounce. And according to GOP pollster Steve Lombardo, it could be one heck of a bounce, like post-convention. He anticipates the Democratic candidate will move up 10 points once the primary race is over.

Can anyone tell me why?? The current Demo contest is as nasty as I have ever seen, and that does back 48 years. Why does Todd think the winner will get an automatic 10 point bounce? Both sides despise each other, and the typical Hillary Demo has more in common with McCain than they do with Hussein and his minions. Many surveys show numbers in the teens that will move to McCain if Hillary is shut out. In fact, some polls show McCain up around 10 versus Hussein and 5 over Hillary.

Todd also makes this astonishing comment.

Getting the bounce out of the way isn’t the only reason McCain needs the Democrats’ race to end as soon as possible. It is also because he will run two very different campaigns depending on whom he faces.

He will either be the steady hand in uncertain times vs. Obama, or he'll be the breath of fresh air and openness in a campaign against Clinton.

That, of course is just silly. Being a steady hand and a breath of fresh air is not mutually exclusive.

I often wonder if these organizations ever set down just look at what their employees are saying.

Hussein is caught in another fib...

In a new ad, Obama says, "I don't take money from oil companies."

Technically, that's true, since a law that has been on the books for more than a century prohibits corporations from giving money directly to any federal candidate. But that doesn't distinguish Obama from his rivals in the race.

We find the statement misleading:

Obama has accepted more than $213,000 from individuals who work for companies in the oil and gas industry and their spouses.

Two of Obama's bundlers are top executives at oil companies and are listed on his Web site as raising between $50,000 and $100,000 for the presidential hopeful.

That's parsing. Hussein knows it, the Demos know, the Left know and we know. Plainer. It is a lie.

Where is the main steam media?? If they will give him a pass on this, what will they call him on? The answer, my friends, is not "blowing in the wind." The answer is nothing. They will call him on nothing.

Two questions for my Jewish friends

and other interested parties.

First, why would you even consider voting for Hillary or Hussein? Both are hand maidens for the radical Left, and every time I scratch a Leftie, I find someone who is anti-Jew. And yes, I know they sometimes dress it up as "anti-Zionist," but that is always with a "wink-wink nudge-nudge" and won't stand examination.

Secondly, the law against doing business with Hamas is plain and simple, yet we have this:

Yes, you can do business in the West Bank and Gaza! Dozens of American firms have established agencies and distributorships, and Palestinian consumers have a strong preference for a wide variety of U.S. goods and services.

Why aren't you on the phone to your Congress person and US Senators?

The tax man cometh

and the election is around the corner. Both Hussien and Hillary have indicated they won't extend the Bush tax cuts. I heard some nutcake on the radio claiming that this won't be a tax increase, just a failure to renew a decrease.

What a stupid thing to say.

But I digress. Here's what I wanted to highlight:

At a recent fund-raiser for Hillary Clinton, the billionaire investor Warren E. Buffett said that rich guys like him weren’t paying enough. Mr. Buffett asserted that his taxes last year equaled only 17.7 percent of his taxable income, compared with about 30 percent for his receptionist.

What he doesn't tell us, of course, is what his taxable income was versus what his actual income was. I would hazard a guess that he, like most wealthy people, has a great deal of income that is non-taxable. So when Warren tells us that, I'll pay attention to him.

And I will also repeat what is often said, "If you want to pay more taxes, just write a check to the US Treasury and send it to the address you mailed your 1040. In other words, lead by example.

Hussein has handlers

and the handlers don't want too many blacks setting behind Hussein's wife, Michelle when she makes a "stump" speech. I guess bringing us together requires fake evidence of diversity.

I copied the following last night from the student newspaper at Carnegie Mellon, the scene of Michelle's visit from the mount. BTW - I don't remember Jesus having the disciples rearrange the crowd to reflect a proper ethnic balance. I have no knowledge of whether Mohhamed did.

“I’ve been here since 11 a.m. setting up and it’s been amazing. It feels like [Barack] Obama is coming,” said sophomore social and decision sciences major Rotimi Abimbola,a leader of Students for Obama who had only a few days to coordinate the event.

While the crowd was indeed diverse, some students at the event questioned the practices of Mrs. Obama’s event coordinators, who handpicked the crowd sitting behind Mrs. Obama. The Tartan’s correspondents observed one event coordinator say to another, “Get me more white people, we need more white people.” To an Asian girl sitting in the back row, one coordinator said, “We’re moving you, sorry. It’s going to look so pretty, though.”
