I don't know what to tell you.
We have an earthquake that puts 3,000,000 people on the street and maybe 100,000 dead and that's terrible.... and we don't even have Bush to blame!
What will we do? What will we do?
Well, best I can tell you is... all we can. And just to get the America bashing started, Pat Robertson blames the victims for consorting with the Devil, or something like that... Uh, Pat. Read your Bible. Check out what He said about destroying the earth and rainbows and such.
So we'll New Orleans these people, which is to say we'll get them more or less back to their previous state of misery to wait for 1 or 10 or 100 years days months until it happens all over again.
As that gad about Rome, J Caesar, told his dear friend Brutus:
"The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings."
Or as my Daddy said about Johnson grass, "You gotta dig it out by its roots, stack the roots until they dry and then burn'em."
In other words, New Orleans is going to flood again because of where it is and Haiti will be unable to take care of itself because of what it is. One has a dysfunctional location and the other has a dysfunctional society.
And we aren't going to fix either.
In the meantime Congress is preparing to pass a law that 64% of the American public opposes because they know better than we.
The fact that we didn't elect them to tell us to drink our OJ and eat our veggies doesn't seem to cross their little devious minds. It is, to say the least, the slickest overthrow of a Constitution in the history of mankind.
