More Wayne
It has been a beautiful day and to top it off, Wayne weighs in with some wonderful comments. Let us begin.
Well now, since a neocon is a liberal who has become a conservative I fail to see how a self confessed social liberal can be considered a necon, but then logic has never be a long suite of the Left. As for war with Iran, that has been on going for years and years but we haven’t yet been smart enough to acknowledge it. That time will come. Hopefully before they nuke NYC.
I also don’t know how voting for someone is considered to be worshipping them. Perhaps you confuse me with an Hussein minion. As I noted, I will support a Demo when one arrives that doesn’t think the country and western civilization sucks and doesn’t want to surrender to our enemies.
I see that you have no knowledge of the foot washers installed in a tech college in Minneapolis, the Muslim checkers who won’t check pork, taxi cab drivers who won’t carry dogs or alcohol, the school in San Diego who segregate boys and girls and provide specific in class room pray time, and then the honor killing in Texas.
If you allow the practuce of Shari law then you are being governed by Shari law.
You should watch more FNC.
And I know no Christian groups that are threatening to attack the US. Let me know when they start taking flight lessons.
Heh?? Nancy wasn’t Pres and Reagan won the cold war. And your point was??
You didn’t have to tell me you believe in manmade GW. I took that for granted. Now, explain to me the Medieval Warming period and the Little Ice Age and why the globe isn’t getting warmer on a linear basis, given that the amount of carbon dioxide being dumped in to the atmosphere is increasing every year.
Educating you as to why the invasion of Iraq was a good thing is beyond the space and time constraints of this blog. As to the assistance of the Left to the terrorists I note that anytime you attack our troops that assists the enemy. For a real world example:
The above comes from a WSJ artricle with Bui Tin, the North Vietnam general officer who received the surrender of South Vietnam. I think that makes him a very good source.
As for Reid's commnents re the war being lost and Pelosi's trip to Syria I refer you to Google. It is a very valuable tool.
As or "McShame," I can only say that the man has more courage in his little finger that all of yours and mine combined.
Well well, what have we here? A genuine neocon! Congratulations, there’s not many of you left who haven’t realized just how insane your ideology is. That Norman Podhoretz “WW IV” rhetoric is a dead giveaway. And your obsession for war with Iran and everybody else except Israel is not surprising, now that I know where you’re coming from.

Like most other neocons, you went over to worship at the altar of Saint Ronnie of Reagan and you’ve been there ever since. Having voted for the rightwing extremist Perot isn’t exactly an indication of a change in philosophy. I admit that being for National Health Care, pro choice, gay marriage and drug law reform are not usually on a Republican’s agenda so maybe you’re an independent free thinker who just happens to always support Republicans and never Democrats. Like I said, there’s a lot of that kinda thing going around these days.
I also don’t know how voting for someone is considered to be worshipping them. Perhaps you confuse me with an Hussein minion. As I noted, I will support a Demo when one arrives that doesn’t think the country and western civilization sucks and doesn’t want to surrender to our enemies.
Oh now, this is good: “…the Left, especially our so-called ‘elite’ universities to destroy our separation of church and state by allowing Shari law to be enforced.” Ha ha, did you say that just to give me a laugh? So the Left is destroying our separation of church and state? That’s a good one! Ever heard of The White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives?
I see that you have no knowledge of the foot washers installed in a tech college in Minneapolis, the Muslim checkers who won’t check pork, taxi cab drivers who won’t carry dogs or alcohol, the school in San Diego who segregate boys and girls and provide specific in class room pray time, and then the honor killing in Texas.

You said, “For proof of my assertions regarding the lack of education of this society you need go no further.” So you’re right because you say you are? Sorry, that dog don’t hunt. The Left hasn’t destroyed this country’s energy independence. The Right is more to blame for that. I don’t think that astrology is real science but some people do. Like Ronald and Nancy Reagan for example.

Heh?? Nancy wasn’t Pres and Reagan won the cold war. And your point was??
But I do believe human activity is having an effect on global warming. If you don’t then maybe you’re one of those flat-earth Republicans, I mean free thinkers, who doesn’t believe in evolution. Like Mike Huckabee. Or like George W Bush, who thinks Intelligent Design (Christian Bible creationism, wink wink) should be taught in our classrooms. Oops, there goes that separation of church and state thing again.
You’re right, I don’t have a fix for the problem of high gas prices and it is not my place to have one. I didn’t say I did. But Junior said he did. He and his party should be held accountable for that. You’re wrong to say that I have no reason for wanting a change. Just like most Americans, I believe we’ve been going in the wrong direction. And we’re not going to change direction if Mr. 100 Years in Iraq John McSame is our next president.I don’t know to tell you this, but us social liberals have all sorts of solutions and are ready to ask that they be tried. And if it isn’t your place, what is that you do? Drink the kool aid and vote the straight surrender – aka Demo – ticket?
You say my comments show I lack information. But you say, “The invasion of Iraq was a good thing” without offering anything to justify such a profound, and frankly absurd, claim. You make the radical assertion that the left has assisted radical Muslim terrorists, yet you offer nothing to justify the silly accusation. If the “Demos Senate Majority Leader” has made “cowardly surrender statements”, please at provide quotes to support this statement. At least I furnished some quotes and my comments show I lack information, according to you. Remember? And how about some specifics on the episode where Democrats were supposed to have dispatched their “…House Leader to beg for peace from the likes of Syria.”
Educating you as to why the invasion of Iraq was a good thing is beyond the space and time constraints of this blog. As to the assistance of the Left to the terrorists I note that anytime you attack our troops that assists the enemy. For a real world example:
Q: Was the American antiwar movement important to Hanoi's victory?
A: It was essential to our strategy. Support of the war from our r
ear was completely secure while the American rear was vulnerable. Every day our leadership would listen to world news over the radio at 9 a.m. to follow the growth of the American antiwar movement. Visits to Hanoi by people like Jane Fonda, and former Attorney General Ramsey Clark and ministers gave us confidence that we should hold on in the face of battlefield reverses. We were elated when Jane Fonda, wearing a red Vietnamese dress, said at a press conference that she was ashamed of American actions in the war and that she would struggle along with us.

Call your Congressman
From the President's speech.

There’s an effort afoot that would jeopardize your right to express your views on public airways. Some members of Congress want to reinstate a regulation that was repealed 20 years ago. It has the Orwellian name called the Fairness Doctrine. Supporters of this regulation say we need to mandate that any discussion of so-called controversial issues on the public airwaves includes equal time for all sides. This means that many programs wanting to stay on the air would have to meet Washington’s definition of balance. Of course, for some in Washington, the only opinions that require balancing are the ones they don’t like. (Laughter and applause.)
We know who these advocates of so-called balance really have in their sights: shows hosted by people like Rush Limbaugh or James Dobson, or many of you here today. By insisting on so-called balance, they want to silence those they don’t agree with. The truth of the matter is, they know they cannot prevail in the public debate of ideas. They don’t acknowledge that you are the balance; that you give voice — (applause.) The country should not be afraid of the diversity of opinions. After all, we’re strengthened by diversity of opinions.
If Congress truly supports the free and open exchange of ideas, then there is a way they can demonstrate that right now. Republicans have drafted legislation that would ban reinstatement of the so-called Fairness Doctrine. Unfortunately, Democratic leaders in the House of Representatives have blocked action on this bill. So in response, nearly every Republican in the House has signed onto what’s called a “discharge petition,” that would require Congress to hold an up or down vote on the ban. Supporters of this petition are only 24 signatures away.

Bits and pieces
Spitzer proves one more time that men do not have enough blood to think and do the sex thing at the same time...
Just heard... the Tennessee legislature has killed a bill outlawing text messaging while driving.... well duhhhhh ...They actually need a law for that? What's next? "No Breathing" painted on the bottom of swimming pools?
Saw something someplace that had pictures of the brain showing that it changes when talking on a cell phone while driving...I have several questions... Wouldn't it also change when just talking?? And how did they get the X-Ray machine in the back seat?
If global warming is caused by man made carbon dioxide, and if the amount is increasing every year, why doesn't the temperature go up every year. Did everyone quit driving last year??
How does me buying carbon credits from someone who is producing less carbon dioxide than me decrease the amount of carbon dioxide produced??
Since trees absorb carbon dioxide, why isn't Pope Algore planting trees instead of investing in a hedge fund on carbon credits? Hey, just asking.
If the Federal Reserve printing more money makes the stock market to go up, and since that also devalues the dollar which causes the price of oil to go up which causes the stock market to go down......???
Read somewhere that they don't have enough transmission facilities to carry electric power from the new windmill power plants to the users. Are there any people called "Planners" around today??
Hump day continues.

The 800 pound gorilla
In this race for first the nomination, and then the main show is race. There is no need to try and deny it, and Geraldine Ferarro is spot on when she says:
It is arguable that Hussein is qualified to be a Senator. There is no doubt that he is not qualified to be President, has no experience in managing anything and no enough real world life experiences in anything except politics. He is a huge ego on legs and has never had to face any problems outside of politics much less been awakened by the telephone at 3AM. Yet there he is, looking over his shoulder at Hillary, supported by minions who show every evidence of being religious fanatics and a MSM that, at best has asked him no harder question than what’s for dinner.
So why is he here? Ferarro said. Because he is black. Take away his black vote and split them say, 60-40 for him and Hillary and he is gone.
I agree. Ms Ferarro is much too honest and has shown too much class to be associated with either Hillary or Hussein.

Ferraro told the Daily Breeze of Torrance, Calif.: "If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept."

Obama senior adviser David Axelrod said Ferraro should be removed from her position with the Clinton campaign because of her comments.

Here’s some more from Wayne.
He’s so impassioned that I want to be sure it's read by as many as possible. To comment, click on the link.
Speaking of funny, you need to go back and read my first post and you will discover that I declared myself a social liberal a long time ago, and no conservative or libertarian would be for National Health Care, pro choice, gay marriage and drug law reform.
I say that you are not a liberal. You are a member of the far Left. I would guess that you are for speech codes in colleges, believe that Che was a great revolutionary and a host of other items that no true liberal would countenance. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Most likely what confuses you is that I am pro defense and believe that we are fighting three wars. One is a worldwide war, WWIV is an apt description, encompassing various terrorist groups and their actions, plus the various actions of fellow travelers, and the rush by the Left, especially our so-called “elite” universities to destroy our separation of church and state by allowing Shari law to be enforced. See the segregated swimming pool at Harvard for the latest example.
Afghanistan and Iraq are mere battles, as will be the forthcoming attack by Iran.
I have voted Repub since 1980, except for 1992 when I decided to send a message to the Repubs and voted for Perot. Yes. I voted for Jimmy Carter and helped elect Clinton, may God forgive me. Carter’s foreign policy you may remember ran the Shah of Iran off and started the chain of events that continue to this very day. I did so because I believe that the country must first and foremost survive.
I am hopeful that someday the Demos will have a candidate that considers the health of the country as important as the health of the polar bear.
I again note that is the Left that has destroyed this country's energy independence. From NIMBY to “No Nukes” you have created a society that thinks that astrology is real science and believing that global warming is caused by man rather than the sun. This rank ignorance as a society has brought forth a candidate that promises change and hope without defining either. For proof of my assertions regarding the lack of education of this society you need go no further.
Now we have the truth. You don’t have a fix for the problem so you demand change for change’s sake and would elect a Demo based on nothing but change.
There are, of course, many things that can be done to fix the problem, but they seem to escape you.
The above comments again show your lack of information. The invasion of Iraq was a good thing. The actions of the Left and the resulting assistance they have rendered the radical Muslim terrorists has been a bad thing, up to and including the cowardly surrender statements by the Demos Senate Majority Leader. A once proud party that defeated the Nazis and their allies has been reduced to cowering in the corner, sucking their thumbs while dispatching their House Leader to beg for peace from the likes of Syria.
So instead of complaining that neither side is doing a damn thing to fix the gas prices, caused by a lack of alternate sources and political toughness you dream of a leader who will not even use his middle name, much less lead the country in defending its culture and physical safety.
Funny thing these days, everybody who walks and talks like a Republican just happens to be an independent or libertarian instead. Like you say, that means you don't have to defend the collosal Republican failure of the past 7 years. Not like you ever voted for Bush or any other Republican, or supported any of their ideologies, right? I don't blame you I guess, I'd be trying to change my identity too if I'd been cheerleading the worst president of all time.

Hey, I'm not the one who criticized Clinton & Gore by making empty promises. That was George W, so if you don't mind I'd like to stay on that subject just a tad. I don't care if you blame Congressional Republicans or not unless you can set your Wayback Machine back to 2000 and do that as the Republican Presidential nominee. And make sure the 'liberal' press runs you comments night and day. Congressional Republicans got a pass then and you're wrong to say it's unfair now for Congressional Democrats escape criticism.
I again note that is the Left that has destroyed this country's energy independence. From NIMBY to “No Nukes” you have created a society that thinks that astrology is real science and believing that global warming is caused by man rather than the sun. I don't have a fix for gas prices and there might not be one because of peak oil. But assertions that they can be fixed are so much a part of rhetoric used by Bush and his party, they own the problem. And with his ideology-first mentality, Bush has until quite recently ignored all remedies except increasing oil supplies. Neglecting alternatives like improving efficiencies and developing other fuel sources has made things much worse.
But you might find comfort in knowing I am doing everything I can to support improvement in this and most of our other problems: I'm making sure we get a Democratic president elected this year, and increase Democratic majorities in the House and Senate as much as possible.
Now we have the truth. You don’t have a fix for the problem so you demand change for change’s sake and would elect a Demo based on nothing but change.
There are, of course, many things that can be done to fix the problem, but they seem to escape you.
BTW, one of your excuses for the president you don't have to make excuses for was, gas prices are higher because we're fighting 2 wars. That's true to say of the war in Iraq, which Junior and President Cheney lied us into. Invading Iraq was a collosal blunder or worse, so I don't see how it's not their fault gas prices have resultingly gone up.
But this is not how Laurence Lindsey – President Bush’s senior economic advisor - saw it in 2002. From the Washington Times, 9/19/02:
As for the impact of a war with Iraq, “It depends how the war goes.” But he quickly adds that that “Under every plausible scenario, the negative effect will be quite small relative to the economic benefits that would come from a successful prosecution of the war.”
“The key issue is oil, and a regime change in Iraq would facilitate an increase in world oil,” which would drive down oil prices, giving the U.S. economy an added boost.
How's that workin' out for ya at the gas pumps these days? But what the heck, President Cheney and the rest of the neocons got their adventure in Iraq.
The above comments again show your lack of information. The invasion of Iraq was a good thing. The actions of the Left and the resulting assistance they have rendered the radical Muslim terrorists has been a bad thing, up to and including the cowardly surrender statements by the Demos Senate Majority Leader. One of my more Leftist buds left
this regarding my post re gasoline prices:
Uh yes. As the party of environmental wackos who managed to stop drilling in Anwarm, yes. Yes I do. They also have prevented any new oil refinieries being built for 30 years or so.
You may note that the Repubs didn't escape my disgust.
Also since 1/01 we have been attacked and are in the process of fighting two wars.
But, so what?
The fact of the matter is that the Demos won't say a word. They want the economy to be in bad shape and for us to be loosing in Iraq. That they think will let them gain control of the White House and Congress.
So quit complaing and tell me what the Demos are doing to fix the problem. I mean besides demand change and hope......You obviously are a Hussein supporter.
AWBONE OF AN ASS.
So you think Congressional Democrats, who have had majority control for one year, should share the blame with Junior for high gas prices? Bush was critical of Al Gore in the 2000 campaign for being part of “the administration that’s been in charge” while the “price of gasoline has gone steadily upward.” He didn't mention Congressional Republicans, who had held the majority for six years at the time
Uh yes. As the party of environmental wackos who managed to stop drilling in Anwarm, yes. Yes I do. They also have prevented any new oil refinieries being built for 30 years or so.
In January 2000, at the New Hampshire Republican Primary debate, Mr. Bush said, "What I think the president ought to do is he ought to get on the phone with the OPEC cartel and say we expect you to open your spigots...And the president of the United States must jawbone OPEC members to lower the price..."
And in June 2000 he said, "I would work with our friends in OPEC to convince them to open up the spigot, to increase the supply," Mr. Bush, the presumptive Republican candidate for president, told reporters here today. "Use the capital that my administration will earn, with the Kuwaitis or the Saudis, and convince them to open up the spigot."
You may note that the Repubs didn't escape my disgust.
The average US price of regular gasoline was $1.46 a gallon when Bush 43 assumed the presidency.
http://www.eia.doe.gov/oil_gas/petroleum/data_publications/wrgp/mogas_home_page.html
Gas Buddy puts today's price at $3.229.
http://www.gasbuddy.com/
And in many parts of America, especially rural areas far from distribution pipelines, consumers are facing the imminent prospect of the $4 gallon.
Meanwhile in Washington, White House press secretary Dana Perino admitted on March 5 this year that the President is "disappointed that they decided not to increase production." President Bush himself whined of OPEC's intransigence that "I think it's a mistake to have your biggest customer's economy to slow down." Powerless now as throughout his presidency, Bush feebly concluded "Until we change our habits, there's going to be more dependency on oil."
Which just goes to show the American people what happens when they place their trust in the jawbone of an ass.

Also since 1/01 we have been attacked and are in the process of fighting two wars.
