Here’s some more from Wayne.

He’s so impassioned that I want to be sure it's read by as many as possible. To comment, click on the link.

Funny thing these days, everybody who walks and talks like a Republican just happens to be an independent or libertarian instead. Like you say, that means you don't have to defend the collosal Republican failure of the past 7 years. Not like you ever voted for Bush or any other Republican, or supported any of their ideologies, right? I don't blame you I guess, I'd be trying to change my identity too if I'd been cheerleading the worst president of all time.

Speaking of funny, you need to go back and read my first post and you will discover that I declared myself a social liberal a long time ago, and no conservative or libertarian would be for National Health Care, pro choice, gay marriage and drug law reform.

I say that you are not a liberal. You are a member of the far Left. I would guess that you are for speech codes in colleges, believe that Che was a great revolutionary and a host of other items that no true liberal would countenance. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Most likely what confuses you is that I am pro defense and believe that we are fighting three wars. One is a worldwide war, WWIV is an apt description, encompassing various terrorist groups and their actions, plus the various actions of fellow travelers, and the rush by the Left, especially our so-called “elite” universities to destroy our separation of church and state by allowing Shari law to be enforced. See the segregated swimming pool at Harvard for the latest example.
Afghanistan and Iraq are mere battles, as will be the forthcoming attack by Iran.

I have voted Repub since 1980, except for 1992 when I decided to send a message to the Repubs and voted for Perot. Yes. I voted for Jimmy Carter and helped elect Clinton, may God forgive me. Carter’s foreign policy you may remember ran the Shah of Iran off and started the chain of events that continue to this very day. I did so because I believe that the country must first and foremost survive.

I am hopeful that someday the Demos will have a candidate that considers the health of the country as important as the health of the polar bear.

Hey, I'm not the one who criticized Clinton & Gore by making empty promises. That was George W, so if you don't mind I'd like to stay on that subject just a tad. I don't care if you blame Congressional Republicans or not unless you can set your Wayback Machine back to 2000 and do that as the Republican Presidential nominee. And make sure the 'liberal' press runs you comments night and day. Congressional Republicans got a pass then and you're wrong to say it's unfair now for Congressional Democrats escape criticism.

I again note that is the Left that has destroyed this country's energy independence. From NIMBY to “No Nukes” you have created a society that thinks that astrology is real science and believing that global warming is caused by man rather than the sun. This rank ignorance as a society has brought forth a candidate that promises change and hope without defining either. For proof of my assertions regarding the lack of education of this society you need go no further.

I don't have a fix for gas prices and there might not be one because of peak oil. But assertions that they can be fixed are so much a part of rhetoric used by Bush and his party, they own the problem. And with his ideology-first mentality, Bush has until quite recently ignored all remedies except increasing oil supplies. Neglecting alternatives like improving efficiencies and developing other fuel sources has made things much worse.

But you might find comfort in knowing I am doing everything I can to support improvement in this and most of our other problems: I'm making sure we get a Democratic president elected this year, and increase Democratic majorities in the House and Senate as much as possible.

Now we have the truth. You don’t have a fix for the problem so you demand change for change’s sake and would elect a Demo based on nothing but change.
There are, of course, many things that can be done to fix the problem, but they seem to escape you.

BTW, one of your excuses for the president you don't have to make excuses for was, gas prices are higher because we're fighting 2 wars. That's true to say of the war in Iraq, which Junior and President Cheney lied us into. Invading Iraq was a collosal blunder or worse, so I don't see how it's not their fault gas prices have resultingly gone up.

But this is not how Laurence Lindsey – President Bush’s senior economic advisor - saw it in 2002. From the Washington Times, 9/19/02:

As for the impact of a war with Iraq, “It depends how the war goes.” But he quickly adds that that “Under every plausible scenario, the negative effect will be quite small relative to the economic benefits that would come from a successful prosecution of the war.”

“The key issue is oil, and a regime change in Iraq would facilitate an increase in world oil,” which would drive down oil prices, giving the U.S. economy an added boost.

How's that workin' out for ya at the gas pumps these days? But what the heck, President Cheney and the rest of the neocons got their adventure in Iraq.

The above comments again show your lack of information. The invasion of Iraq was a good thing. The actions of the Left and the resulting assistance they have rendered the radical Muslim terrorists has been a bad thing, up to and including the cowardly surrender statements by the Demos Senate Majority Leader. A once proud party that defeated the Nazis and their allies has been reduced to cowering in the corner, sucking their thumbs while dispatching their House Leader to beg for peace from the likes of Syria.

So instead of complaining that neither side is doing a damn thing to fix the gas prices, caused by a lack of alternate sources and political toughness you dream of a leader who will not even use his middle name, much less lead the country in defending its culture and physical safety.

  1. Well well, what have we here? A genuine neocon! Congratulations, there’s not many of you left who haven’t realized just how insane your ideology is. That Norman Podhoretz “WW IV” rhetoric is a dead giveaway. And your obsession for war with Iran and everybody else except Israel is not surprising, now that I know where you’re coming from.

Like most other neocons, you went over to worship at the altar of Saint Ronnie of Reagan and you’ve been there ever since. Having voted for the rightwing extremist Perot isn’t exactly an indication of a change in philosophy. I admit that being for National Health Care, pro choice, gay marriage and drug law reform are not usually on a Republican’s agenda so maybe you’re an independent free thinker who just happens to always support Republicans and never Democrats. Like I said, there’s a lot of that kinda thing going around these days.

Oh now, this is good: “…the Left, especially our so-called ‘elite’ universities to destroy our separation of church and state by allowing Shari law to be enforced.” Ha ha, did you say that just to give me a laugh? So the Left is destroying our separation of church and state? That’s a good one! Ever heard of The White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives?

You said, “For proof of my assertions regarding the lack of education of this society you need go no further.” So you’re right because you say you are? Sorry, that dog don’t hunt. The Left hasn’t destroyed this country’s energy independence. The Right is more to blame for that. I don’t think that astrology is real science but some people do. Like Ronald and Nancy Reagan for example.

But I do believe human activity is having an effect on global warming. If you don’t then maybe you’re one of those flat-earth Republicans, I mean free thinkers, who doesn’t believe in evolution. Like Mike Huckabee. Or like George W Bush, who thinks Intelligent Design (Christian Bible creationism, wink wink) should be taught in our classrooms. Oops, there goes that separation of church and state thing again.

You’re right, I don’t have a fix for the problem of high gas prices and it is not my place to have one. I didn’t say I did. But Junior said he did. He and his party should be held accountable for that. You’re wrong to say that I have no reason for wanting a change. Just like most Americans, I believe we’ve been going in the wrong direction. And we’re not going to change direction if Mr. 100 Years in Iraq John McSame is our next president.

You say my comments show I lack information. But you say, “The invasion of Iraq was a good thing” without offering anything to justify such a profound, and frankly absurd, claim. You make the radical assertion that the left has assisted radical Muslim terrorists, yet you offer nothing to justify the silly accusation. If the “Demos Senate Majority Leader” has made “cowardly surrender statements”, please at provide quotes to support this statement. At least I furnished some quotes and my comments show I lack information, according to you. Remember? And how about some specifics on the episode where Democrats were supposed to have dispatched their “…House Leader to beg for peace from the likes of Syria.”

Oh and one more thing: You asked me to correct you if you’re wrong. You’re wrong.
