Did the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor??

Well, according to the ladies of The View, “No.”

At least if we follow their logic. It was Japanese Extremists.

Did Germans execute six million Jews?

Well, according to the lades of The View, “No.”

At least if we follow their logic it was German Extremists.

Of course they are over age, over weight, over paid and way past over stupid.

Seldom has a talking head on TV so exposed the hypocrisy of the Left as Bill O’Reilly did this. What started out as an exercise in crass commercialism… O’Reilly was just hucking his book…. turned into a screaming contest ending as two dames stalked off in high dungeon after O’Reilly pointed out that, yes, it was Muslims that attacked us on 9/ll.

The nerve of him to point out that it is going on 10 years and it is time for the world to accept the fact that it was Muslims who plotted, hijacked and flew the planes and crashed them into the towers, the Pentagon and who were forced into the ground in a Pennsylvania field.

As a country we have become so politically correct that we have become stupid. Worse, we let the terrorists define what we say and what we do. Can’t say “Muslims attacked…. Must say radical Muslims attacked….”

This is nuts. Why? Because by continually doing so we let the moderate Muslims off the hook. And that’s bad. Because it is the millions of moderate Muslims who suffer and it is they who must shut down the terrorists.

But who will tell them?

Darkness falls

Although the trial of Dutch MP and critic of Islam, Geert Wilders, and its serious implications for free speech in Europe, is once again creating a furor in the press, another high-profile trial of a critic of Islam -- Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, in Austria -- is being overlooked.
Ms. Sabaditsch-Wolff now faces up to a three-year prison sentence if convicted of "inciting hatred against a religious group" and "defamation of religion" in a lecture in 2009 on the "Islamization of Europe."

As allegedly criminal statements fill the indictments of "hate speech" prosecutions, as in the case with Mr. Wilders, the Dutch MP says that he has spoken the truth, and the truth cannot be illegal.

Unfortunately speaking the truth about Islam in Europe can get you arrested and if convicted, time in prison.

Even if Widers and Sabaditsch-Wolf win, the chilling effect on free speech is immense.

Her stories are undoubtedly disturbing: two of her non-Muslim friends were attacked for breaking the Ramadan fast – one, a Coptic Christian, was assaulted for licking stamps at a post office; the other, for chewing gum. On another occasion, apparently, when Mrs. Sabaditsch-Wolff sat in her apartment watching the 9/11 unfold on television, and her landlord burst in exclaiming that "the Jews did it," she asked him to leave.

Yes children, this is happening in Austria. In Europe. The same Europe that brought us Hitler is now bringing us another "ism."

How far behind will we be if we don't take back control of our society??

Two Republicans in every race!

I swear we have two Repubs running for every office.

But if you look at the fine print you will find at least one in each race is a Democrat.

Everyone of them are against illegal immigration, deficit spending, Obamacare.......pro defense...supports veterans...NRA members...

And none of them have ever heard of Obama. None of them. Never. Who's he????

I tell you it's amazing. Here we have these highly educated, well informed people wanting to be our representatives and senators yet they have never heard of Obama.

Even if I considered voting for one of them I couldn't.

They are obviously so poorly informed they don't deserve my vote.

I am not a great fan of

Paul Craig Roberts

He's a bit too negative for me, but....

For a number of years I reported on the monthly non-farm payroll jobs data. The data did not support the praises economists were singing to the "New Economy." The "New Economy" consisted, allegedly, of financial services, innovation, and high-tech services.

This economy was taking the place of the old "dirty fingernail" economy of industry and manufacturing. Education would retrain the workforce, and we would move on to a higher level of prosperity.

Time after time I reported that there was no sign of the "New Economy" jobs, but that the old economy jobs were disappearing. The only net new jobs were in lowly paid domestic services such as waitresses and bartenders, retail clerks, health care and social assistance (mainly ambulatory health care services), and, before the bubble burst, construction.

The facts, issued monthly by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, had no impact on the "New Economy" propaganda. Economists continued to wax eloquently about how globalism was a boon for our future.

The millions of unemployed today are blamed on the popped real estate bubble and the subprime derivative financial crisis. However, the U.S. economy has been losing jobs for a decade. As manufacturing, information technology, software engineering, research, development, and tradable professional services have been moved offshore, the American middle class has shriveled. The ladders of upward mobility that made American an "opportunity society" have been dismantled.

Why are we surprised??

I remember the late 60's when Toyota first came into the US followed by a host of others. Slowly they whittled away at our automotive industries and just sucked up the entertainment electronics industry and shrunk the telecommunications industry.

Twelve miles from where I write this there was a factory making telecommunications equipment that in 1966 worked three shifts and employed over three thousand people. A sister factory to the south employed around 2000 as did a factory 500 miles to the east.

About 40 miles to the west a small firm made TV tuners on contract to the large manufacturers and three miles from here a small firm made wiring assemblies and other products for the automotive industry/market.

To the north the "coat" factory made coats and near here shoes were made.

None of these exist today.

To be fair, the South played "beggar your neighnor" to the now "Rust Belt" by promising industries cheaper labor and low taxes. And the Japanese did open some electronic plants and some auto plantrs.

But on the whole those were PR sops and a bandaids.

The facts are that while we couldn't sell in Japan, and other countries, they could here. We deluded ourselves into thinking that we could stop building things, adding a value that someone else coud not.

There is a reason why a skilled mechanic makes more money than a waiter.

The value added by the mechanic is worth more and can be provided only by a decidedly smaller group who have more training and skills.

And to again be fair, the jobs slipped passed Japan into SE Asia and China.

But that doesn't help our shrinking middle class.

Do I have a solution? No. I don't.

Some say that the wages and working conditions around the world will catch
up and even out. But I doubt it. The unions were what expanded economic democracy by demanding higher wages and management was constrained by a knowledge of what it meant to be poor and while they were greedy, their greed was tempered by social responsibility.

China doesn't have unions but they do have Crony Capitialism. So don't expect China to change short of a war and regime change.

We still have unions but they are dedicated to promoting Left wing social issues and electing Democrats who they expect to give them more power. We also have Crony Capitialism, only it is more between Wall Street and Government than anything else.

The Tea Party offers some hope of reform but too many of these folks are more interested in making sure Paul doesn't smoke dope and that Jane doesn't marry Sue. Not, mind you, that I cease to be a fan of the Tea Party movement but they are just the tip of what must be changed.

Just over two years ago we bailed out Wall Street from their stupid tricks and unbounded greed. Yet 99.9% of the players suffered nothing for their actions. That's like letting a puppy diddle on the floor without even a strong, "No! No!" The puppy's reward for you will be another puddle and a pile of poop. Probably in the middle of the living room.

We don't know just yet how Wall Street will screw us again but they will.

Hat tip to Edger

I'm baaaacccckkkkk!

So I've been having these computer problems. Plus my back up, an old Compaq that has survived far longer than anyone could have expected, decided to retire after I downloaded MSINE 8. Probably no connection but I am a suspicious type. Especially since the problems with the prime compounded when I downloaded MSINE8. (See, I'm not as smart as I'm sure you thought I was!)

Then ATT did its part by proving that high speed DSL can come and go.

So between screwing around with the toys, going to Grandson's football games, mulching leaves and playing in a poker tournament (finished third, thank you) I haven't been doing what a good blogger does, blog. But hey! I'm a ROF!

So anyway on Sunday PM I convinced ATT that 600 KB isn't 1.5 MB and they fessed up to some "noise on the line." So being on a roll I decided, after the urging of Microsoft, to download some updates. The results? Fatal sytem error and the infamous blue screen.

After doing the usual growling and trying all the self tests, etc., I dug out the Toshiba recovery discs and spent a good part of yesterday going through the complete recovery bit.

Things are better now. All I have left is re-installing my printer and Kodak software. Plus all the content files which I had just backed up a week ago. I mean, talk about good timing.

Plus figure out how to activate MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint which the computer tells me is re-installed but I now have to return on. Yeah, I know. I bought and paid for it and have my receipt but no one is going to want to tell me how to do this.

War is hell in the Internet Age.

This post is for Jondee

Jondee continues his nasty claims in a venue that he knows that I cannot respond in.

Shame on him.

But that's typical.

Come on Jondee! Man up and show us your stuff.
