Picked this up over at Velociworld

and Munch has a point.

But given that we were a British colony and given our current actions his position is in serious dispute.

The sad truth is, about 2/3 of the world's Countries would be better places if they were British Colonies. Yeah, yeah, the Brits exploited the locals. They also gave them rule of law and fair courts, private property (and there was no rule preventing a colonial from owning property), good practial education (look at how many Indians speak good English), a civil and safe society and a whole heap of freedom.

Most of the good Countries on Earth are former British colonies.

If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them." - Karl Popper

“Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants. It is the creed of slaves.” - William Pitt

"Logic. There is little logic among the cultural elite, maybe because there is little omnipresent fear of job losses or the absence of money, and so arises a rather comfortable margin to indulge in nonsense." - Victor Davis Hanson
