Mr. Beck does set a high standard for others to aspire to:
Colbert then used a classic "Daily Show" tactic, exposing the hypocrisy of Beck's 9-12 project by highlighting comments he made on September 9, 2005.
"This is horrible to say, and I wonder if I'm alone in this," Beck said on his radio program that day, "you know it took me about a year to start hating the 9/11 victims' families? I don't hate all of them. I hate probably about 10 of them. But when I see a 9-11 victim family on television, or whatever, I'm just like, 'Oh, shut up!' I'm so sick of them because they're always complaining. And we did our best for them."
"The 9-12 project is not for families directly affected by 9/11, just people building their careers on it," Colbert said.
Colbert went on to mock Beck's now infamous tendency to cry, and to launch his own "democratic experiment, the 10-31 project."
Since I am not a Conservative I really don’t care what a “conservative” had to say about Beck.
I am of mixed emotions regarding the actions of some of the 9/11 survivors, which should be of no surprise considering that the 3000 dead probably touched 10 to 12000 people very closely.
Colbert is a comedian. He makes his living snarking at and about others, inducing some to laugh at them. He neither weaves nor does he sew, producing nothing. Thus he appeals to the worst in us.
He is a perfect fit for you and I understand why you watch him.
Your hero is someone who cries at the drop of a hat, and you're one of the "adults" and I'm one of the "children" for pointing out that Glenn is less than perfect in other respects.
An Engineer is not a Scientist. He doesn't think like a Scientist. He doesn't have the same value-system in his judgments. But he's even more anti-mystic than the Scientist!
- John W Cambell, Jr - Analog Science Fiction Science Fact, December 1966
Which explains why many scientists buy into the man made warming hoax and many engineers reject it. Scientists want to know why and believe. Engineers want to build.

"It will be scare and balanced!" he joked.

ReplyDeleteYou mistake me for someone who gives a flip about anything you might say or write,
ReplyDeleteNow. Go home child, the adults want to be left alone.

ReplyDeleteIf you say so.
Since I have never said Beck was a "hero" I gather that you have no idea of what you are writing about beyond the desire to taunt.
ReplyDeleteRun on home child, the adults want to be left alone.
