Wolf Blitzer and CNN Not!

Will some one tell me why?

Oklahoma Congresswoman Mary Fallin began an introduction of a video presentation about Islamist attacks on the U.S. over the past decades, host Wolf Blitzer gave a bit of a warning about the content of the video: "Let's listen to Congresswoman Mary Fallin of Oklahoma. She's going to make the case why Republicans are better in protecting us than Democrats, and that will lead into a video. It's provocative. There will be images of 9/11 and towers going down. It will raise controversy.

Why is showing images of the towers going down, "provocative?"

Listen up, Wolfie. It happened. We were attacked by Islamic radicals. They were terrorists. Nothing has changed since then Wolfie except that we have killed a bunch of them. Now repeat after me.

9/11 Bad.

Remembering it and who did it, good.

Watching dumb assses on CNN, bad.

Wolfie no longer on TV, good.

  1. I'll quote someone who actually lives in NYC:

A visibly upset Keith Olbermann apologized to viewers Thursday night for the graphic 9/11 tribute played in the lead-up to John McCain's acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention.

    Olbermann said of the video:

"If at this late date, any television network had, of its own accord, shown that much video tape and that much graphic video tape of 9/11...it, we, would be rightly eviscerated at all quarters, perhaps by the Republican Party itself, for exploiting the memories of the dead, and perhaps even for trying to evoke that pain again. If you reacted to that video tape the way I did, I apologize. It is a subject of great pain, for many of us still, and it was probably not appropriate to be shown."

and as someone pointed out in the comments:

This kind of thing has NO PLACE at a partisan convention unless both the DNC and RNC worked together on a mutually agreed upon tribute that would run at both conventions and at a time in the program NOT preceding the introduction of either nominee. That would show both parties were rising above politics to create a true tribute for ALL Americans. Of course, this is the GOP. They have made an art for out of winning elections by preying on our fears. Are we shocked that they pulled 9/11 out of their bag of dirty tricks? I'm not. If the Democrats ran something like this before Obama's speech, oh the right wing talk radio tongues would have been wagging. Rudy would have his red faced mug all over CNN waving a bony finger of blame and O'Reilly's "No Spin Zone" would be spinning out of control. Of course, a week later, the Republicans would do the exact same thing but find a dozen different ways to excuse their heinous actions. Take your pick from their top three of late: it's "the media" on a witch hunt, it's "sexist" criticism or, the biggie, they can run a 9/11 video for political purposes because John McCain is "a POW."

Glad to find a fourth alternative, not that it's any more persuasive than the other 3.

  2. Why is the Left so scared that people will see the 9/11 attacks??
I think they should be broadcast on all stations everyday for everyone to see.

Kinda remind everyone that we were attacked and that the war isn't over.

As for Olberman, he just got his wrist slapped. Hopefully NBC will put the adults back in charge at MSNBC and fire him and Squeaky.

  3. Why is the Left so scared that people will see the 9/11 attacks??

Wanting the 9/11 attacks to not be used for partisan politics isn't the same as your formulation.

Kinda remind everyone that we were attacked and that the war isn't over.

You really think that everyone needs to be reminded that we were attacked? That after 7 years the memories would fade like Brigadoon?

It also kinda reminds everyone of the question, "Where is bin Laden?"

I noticed that you didn't mention that question.

    Why is that?

  4. Because OBL's location has nothing to do with the fact that the Left wants to pretend that we aren't under attack and we shouldn't be seeing evidence of that attack.

  7. No, you are here to try and reframe, etc. OBL's location has nothing to do with the subject of the post. I gave you a chance to address the subject and you went off on a tangent.

    So your comment was deleted.

Now. Get back on topic or I will delete you again.
