Obama has money siezed

Did any one see this in CBS? ABC? FOX? NBC?........

Nigerian anti-graft investigators have seized money raised by the head of the Nigerian Stock Exchange to support US presidential candidate Barack Obama.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said it would give the money back to those who attended a gala dinner in Lagos last month.

The EFCC said it had seized 74m naira ($630,000, £314,000), but said no Nigerian laws had been broken.

  1. It was in the LA Times last week, and Obama had no money "siezed":

Obama's campaign said it was in no way affiliated with the group Africans for Obama and would not accept funds from the organization. Although the fundraising was not illegal in Nigeria, it is illegal under U.S. law for foreign groups to donate funds to American political parties.

  2. hehe

What you mean is that it wasn't seized because they seized it before it could be given to him....

BTW - Did you hear about the two dudes from Palistine who gave him around $30K?

And that you can give mone to him from ANY place in the world via credit cards using links on his website....

  3. No, there is no evidence that Obama or his campaign was in any way involved with this effort, which the different stories as to how the money would be spent tends to confirm.

    Nice try.

Did you hear about the two dudes from Palistine who gave him around $30K?

Oh, do you mean the 3 Palestinian brothers?

This is from a non-wingnut news source:

    August 5, 2008, 5:13 pm
    Obama Camp Routed Out Illegal
    Donations from Palestinians

Glenn R. Simpson reports on the presidential race.

Obama campaign officials said a trio of Palestinian brothers in the Middle East attempted last year to make $33,000 in illegal donations to the campaign via the internet.

The brothers sought to buy “Obama for President” T-shirts in some 97 attempts, 32 of which were initially successful.

They wrongly identified themselves as American citizens, campaign officials said, and listed their address as “GA”, the abbreviation for Georgia, when in fact they live in a refugee camp in Gaza, a rump city-state between Israel and Egypt that is under the control of Hamas.

The donations came in between Sept. 20 and Dec. 6 and virtually all of the money, about $33,500, was returned by December 6. But the refunds weren’t reported to the Federal Election Commission due to a technical error, campaign officials said.

The remaining $2,500 was refunded Monday. The refunds will all be reflected shortly in an amended report. New controls to prevent such attempts are now in place, the campaign said.

Typical liberal tripe, attempting to blame the victim here instead of focusing on the perps.

And that you can give mone to him from ANY place in the world via credit cards using links on his website..

You should be aware that the McCain website has the same feature for credit cards as you've described for the Obama website.

The form requires the donor to affirm that he/she is an American citizen, as does the Obama website:

    Legal Compliance

Check this box to confirm that the following statements are true and accurate:

    1. I am a United States citizen or a lawfully-admitted permanent resident.
    2. I am at least 16 years old.
    3. This contribution is not made from the general treasury funds of a corporation, labor organization or national bank.
    4. This contribution is not made from the funds of a political action committee.
    5. This contribution is not made from the treasury of an entity or person who is a federal contractor.
    6. This contribution is not made from the funds of an individual registered as a federal lobbyist or a foreign agent, or an entity that is a federally registered lobbying firm or foreign agent.
    7. The funds I am donating are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.

For this one, you get 9 for form but 2 for content.

You let your wishes and hopes get ahead of reality-checking.

    The above is the result.

Hey, Muhammed! Don't forget to check the form!

  5. Or Grigor from Georgia, if you're talking about the McCain website.

Sorry, PPJ, it's pretty standard for all campaign sites to have a place where you can make a donation with a credit card from anywhere in the world.

That you see something sinister that the Obama site does so, does tell us about your sense of logic, such as it is.................

Thanks for all the laughs today.

  6. So??? That makes it right??

I thought Hussein was the candidate of high morality and change.

Of course with his Muslim roots and popularity in Europe, why would he want to block'em out.

BTW - Credit card companoes can look at the card number and see all the information about the card holder.

  7. You have no more proof that "Muhhamed", to use your witty locution, is using credit cards to bfund the Obama campaign from overseas than "Grigor", as in my example is funding Sidney from the nation of Georgia.

Of course with his Muslim roots and popularity in Europe, why would he want to block'em out.

I would bet garbage to door nails that he follows the campaign law like he's suppose to.

You have no more idea of how the Obama campaign runs their fund-raising operations that when you wrote your post.

So far, you demonstrated you've nothing but snark, your conviction that anything the Obama does has a dark side, and a lack of evidence that he or his campaign have done anything wrong.

Keep up the good work. People will vote for him when they find nuts like you and read your "proof" of Obama's evil intentions.

  8. hehehe

You are right! I have no proof and my claims are not capable of being proven either way.

But I have them on good authority from a waitress who heard Hussein bragging about it at lunch..

Heck. Maybe KOS will pick it up and let it run fo a few days before removing the link.

    Link

No, wait. For KOS to do that it would have to be an obviously BS attack on Palin....

  9. The KOS entry was taking various bits of information and putting them in a pattern that for some folks made sense.

Would that you could aspire to that level of rumor-mongering.

You just take bits of fact with a lot of interpolations and come up with the accusation that Obama has credit card donations enabled on his website(just as McCain has) so that Muhhamed can donate from his luxurious cave somewhere on the border of Afghanistan, NOT because it makes it easier for his donors to give him money.

You have the right spirit, but your smears need to be more fact-based and require a smattering of logic in order to make a difference.

Hope you found the above helpful.

  10. "that for some folks made sense."

    hahahahahahaahhaahahaha

That is pure BS DA. I thought better of you than that.

And I am amazed that you can't see that your leg is being pulled at bit.

What would be interesting would be to subpoena the credit card records from the companies involved. Yes, that would be interesting.

  11. That is pure BS DA. I thought better of you than that.

Is that why you wanted to shame me into silence on one of the TL threads a while back?

Yes, it made sense to some people that it was highly unusual for a woman to fly to Alaska from Texas after her water broke, and to proceed all the way to the clinic in her small town to give birth, instead of the hospital in the city she landed in, along with other details.

Just as it makes sense to you that Obama is some sort of Islamicist secret agent who will grow a beard and establish madrassas in this country starting as soon as he takes his oath of office and sits down for the first time in the Oval Office.

And I am amazed that you can't see that your leg is being pulled at bit.

    pulled at bit?

You express paranoid ideation towards anything Barack does that doesn't meet your approval or is out of his control, as with the fund-raising scam that you started this thread with.

I think I can be forgiven for taking your attempt(as they all are) at humor seriously, especially when you think Cold-War era Bob Hope jokes that he didn't write are the high point of American political humor.

I think it would be interesting to see the credit card records for McCain's donations as well, BTW.

Perhaps there's a few Grigors from Georgia there, you never know.

    ReplyDelete
  12. You're slobbering again....

You mean Bob Hope didn't write all of his jokes?

I am astounded. Wow. The depth of your knowledge is truly amazing.

Did you understand "at bit?" I think you did. Are you going to start writing gibberish as you did over at TL?

The claims re Palin's child and her daughter are outrageous along with the phony "Sambo" claim and the phony "banned books," "abuse of power," and the phony her mother-in-law going to vote for Hussein...etc., etc.

Enjoy the people you keep company with, DA. Just be sure to take a bath before going out in public. The slime dripping off you will be a dead giveaway.

And be sure and compare Palin with pigs....as did your Hero, Hussein of the Temple of Lost Elections.

    hahahahaahahahaha
