The chickens are starting to come home to roost

Husseinmay be in more trouble than anyone thinks. While winning 95% of the black vote won the nomination, losing the blue collar vote may have been terminal. Simply put, the insults to them, the not-so veiled "you're a racist if you don't vote for Hussein," has gotten their attention.

Now they see William Ayers and Hussein as a pair, his "God Damn America" preacher as a fixture and Rezko turns him into just another politician. But it is the Ayers relationship that hurts most. It is the middle lower class that is fighting the terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan, and a man that can chum around with an admitted terrorist is not likely to be accepted, or voted for.

He lost the state primary. Ten of the state's 17 superdelegates still haven't endorsed him. And to cap it all, a member of the (Tennessee)state Democratic executive committee has speculated publicly that Obama may be "terrorist connected."

They reported that on Fox News, that he has associates who are connected to terrorism," said Fred Hobbs, a state Democratic Party official from Eagleville. "It does throw up a red flag for me. … I certainly don't think he's a terrorist. I've just heard he has associates who might have those ties."

...Also caught up in the backlash is uncommitted superdelegate U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis, a conservative Democrat who represents mainly rural and suburban Tennessee counties that swung for Clinton, not Obama, in the primary. His silence only fueled speculation that Davis and other conservative Democrats were trying to distance themselves from a candidate who may be wildly unpopular in their Republican-leaning districts.

Hobbs, however, said there are plenty of other Tennessee Democrats who share his doubts and don't quite know what to make of their party's nominee.

"A whole lot of other people have concerns about him," Hobbs said. "It'd be nice to hear from him before the election about some of these things that were said on TV."

And people are starting to understand that Hussein can't come on TV and explain these things away because he did have the Preacher for 20 years. He did serve on boards with Ayers. Rezko was his neighbor and a major fund raiser.

Facts are those uncomfortable things that, sooner or later, count.
