Guess they were wrong..

LONDON (AP) - Stocks fell sharply worldwide Monday following declines on Wall Street last week amid investor pessimism over the U.S. government's stimulus plan to prevent a recession.

According to all the blather from the Left I thought the EU was the currency of the world and the US meant nothing.

Looks like the world still understands who carries the load.

  1. In order to get me to read your blog more often, you need to comment on how to win at Texas Hold'em. I get enough political stuff from the TV while I am playing online.

But one political comment: I don't think race should be a factor in deciding whether or not Obama is the right candidate. However, as wonderful as he is at public speaking, he is rather short on substance or specifics. Trying to sound like MLK or JFK is not the answer. I won't say he is an "empty suit" yet, but close....

  2. Of course US means something. At least to me. I live next door, in Canada. If you go down, I go down. It would be naive to believe otherwise. I'm here because Danny Wilson made it easy to click your blog. I go to his blog for his "Saturday Bach". I play a bit of classical music (piano). It's fun to listen to a guitar playing Bach.
I know very little about what's best for your country. I'm very glad I won't have to vote in your next elections. I can't really comment on most of your postings. Nevertheless it's interesting to read them, and to see that some people are well-informed and share their views in public.
I don't have a blog. I'm in my seventies. My son encouraged me to get the internet, last November( 07). I enjoy it very much.
I also like Smiley's People (all John le Carré). I'll keep in touch with your blog. You're doing a good job about clarifying difficult issues. All the best to you and family.

  3. Well the European Union is set out to take on the world, isn't it?

    It'll get there...someday.

    But not yet.

  4. You need an open house or something for your blog. Yes, the Europeans like to think it would be a better world without us. As if.

    Just wait for tomorrow.

  6. msken - I assume you are playing in the "free games." About all I can say is that these don't resemble real games. There are several books and blogs. I'll do a post on them in the future.

As for Obama, he won't tell us because he knows we won't like his plans.

  9. Peggy U - They loved us as long as they felt they needed us, and as long we did what they wanted...

reminds me of my third wife....

(Just joking. I still am married to the one and only. It's nice to have found a Saint on the first try.) ;-)
