President Barack Obama said in Turkey : "We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values."

After reviewing acknowledgments of God from all 50 state constitutions, one is faced with the prospect that maybe, Obama, the ACLU and the out-of-control federal courts are wrong!

But we must not forget that Obama was raised as a Muslim for the first 10 years of his life. That is huge. It also explains his statements here and his disdain for our allies. It also explains his absolute insult to Israel.

Republicans debase themselves

It's been an interesting day. I mean the apologies are just flying from the Repub hoodoos and of course the Lefties are happy to have the opposition debasing themselves rather than standing up and saying, "Hey! We're mad as hell and don't expect us to get over it anytime soon!"

"And we'll try and shut down our nutcases if you will just try and keep yours from shooting at our member's offices."

I mean, wouldn't that be the least they can do?

Even the guy who gave money to the (most likely) fake Parkinson's victim has apologized. Brace up, buckoo!

But I will use that apology, as needless as I think it is, and we'll have an Apology Party!

Now, since it is the Lefties turn:

The Lefties spitting at the one legged veteran.

The Lefties burning a soldier in effigy.

The Lefties slashing the tires of the Repubs in WI.

The Lefties supporting ACRON, an organization that was complicit in aiding (what they believed) a pimp who wanted to defraud the banks, government and use under age illegal alien females.

The Lefties intimidating voters in Philly.

The Lefties attacking and disrupting an anti-illegal alien demonstration last Saturday in DC.

The Lefties attacking and hospitalizing a Tea Party demonstrator in St Louis.

Every blog has a cute cat picture

So I thought you would enjoy a catFISH picture. I think Shawn L sent them to me. If I remember part of the article mentioned that a man's body was found inside....

Gives the word "bait" a whole new meaning...

I need a squirrel's picture that shows them digging up old acorns and nuts. The yard has hundreds of these small holes and I can't come outside without having three or four scatter and head for the trees.

I like squirrels. Oh, I know they are just tree rats and if they decide to take up residency in your attic, well it's a lots worse than bats in the belfry. In fact I use to hunt them with my trusty shotgun and four or five make a tasty meal for breakfast but I'm past that now and I think they know it.

I even let them put me out of the strawberry business. The situation was grim. Blooms, green berries and then no berries. Thinking that the rabbits were to blame up went the chicken wire around the berries... Same results. Blooms, small green berries and then no berries. Finally one early morning as I peered through the mist I observed one climbing up and over the fence to get a berry.

Undaunted by my presence he scrambled back over and out preferring to eat the berry while perched on a deck post. All while watching me with a certain attitude of tail and body position.

I knew when I had lost.

In the meantime Ann Coulter continues to outrage the Lefties. Of course that is an easy thing to do but Ms Coulter does it with such style and sharp tongue that one must admire her efforts.

And of course we are finding that evil Repubs are encouraging the nut cases who have threatened some Demo politicians with grave bodily harm. How do I know?

Well, the Leftie Demos have told me so.

And the Repubs have condemned same while reminding the Demos of the threats against Repub politicians.

Of course the Demos have not condemned and/or acknowledged these threats. But after all, they are Leftie Democrats. Do you expect fairness and kindness?

Silly people.

And the sun today was warmer and the ground drier. I managed to get the upper front picked up and cleaned of its winter treasure of leaves and limbs. Plus the evergreen and azalea beds by the drive are now fertilized, cleaned and re-mulched.

In the process of doing this I killed a small copperhead. About as thick as my middle finger and maybe 8 inches long. I flipped him over while loading mulch from my mulch pile and immediately dispatched him with my shovel. Probably last year's crop but still able to cause some serious problems if he hangs a fang in you.

Ball practice tomorrow if the weather permits. Today the Grandson threw at the hanging target for about an hour despite my warning him about over extending his arm. Perhaps a sore elbow will convince him that old people picked up a bit of knowledge along the way.

On more serious things, Mostly Cajun reminds us that on March 23, 1775, Patrick Henry got a good rant going and finished it up like this.

It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, “Peace! Peace!” — but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? He has seen the light.... Will our Congress critters?

The French government on Wednesday said it would abandon its plan to introduce a carbon tax on domestic energy and road fuels unless there was agreement for a European Union-wide levy.

The U-turn on the controversial environmental tax come two days after the governing UMP party of President Nicolas Sarkozy suffered a heavy defeat in regional elections. Senior UMP politicians have blamed the defeat in part on the proposed tax, which was due to come into effect on July.

Baseball season, or at least practice, is here. Green grass, warm sun and watching kids run, catch and tumble like a bunch of puppies after a bone. It does remind me that life is a river that goes on and on... with or without us.

Actually today was a double dip. Grandson got measured for his new football pads and helmet.

If they are on a playing field you know where they are, what they are doing and, to a degree, what they are thinking.

Speaking of global warming, Fayetteville, AR got 13 inches of snow on Sunday,

Local churches are praying for a cold snap...

The garden was almost dry enough to work up but the rains mushed it back up. I need some dry weather. If you work it too wet all you get are clods..

But it is time for setting out cabbages and onions and whether lettuce has wings.. No, not gonna go there.

I have decided to patent my method of using wire baskets for cukes. Keeps them off the ground and easy to pick without disturbing the snakes.

Okra, aka Candy in this household, is still five weeks away. But I have an ample supply frozen from last year, all cut into 1/2 inch pieces, egged, salted and floured and ready to drop into boiling grease.

But I do yearn for some fresh.

Yes, there is some Coon Ass in the family tree.

Last year I set out Better Boys and Better Girls tomato plants to see which put out first... As you might expect the boys were eager and the girls slower.

The flower beds are cleaned out and the buttercups are in bloom by the shrub line and on the hill. I must remember to pick some and using the Easter egg dye provide a technicolor spray for Easter.

See? I can do a post without mentioning Obamie. Yes I can.

Now Obama has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of camels, and mortgaged the Promised Land.

I was so depressed last night thinking about Health Care Plans, the economy, the wars, lost jobs, Savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc. . . .

I called Lifeline, the suicide help line.

Got a call center in Pakistan .

I told them I was suicidal.


They all got excited and asked if I could drive a truck...
