Every blog has a cute cat picture

So I thought you would enjoy a catFISH picture. I think Shawn L sent them to me. If I remember part of the article mentioned that a man's body was found inside....

Gives the word "bait" a whole new meaning...

I need a squirrel's picture that shows them digging up old acorns and nuts. The yard has hundreds of these small holes and I can't come outside without having three or four scatter and head for the trees.

I like squirrels. Oh, I know they are just tree rats and if they decide to take up residency in your attic, well it's a lots worse than bats in the belfry. In fact I use to hunt them with my trusty shotgun and four or five make a tasty meal for breakfast but I'm past that now and I think they know it.

I even let them put me out of the strawberry business. The situation was grim. Blooms, green berries and then no berries. Thinking that the rabbits were to blame up went the chicken wire around the berries... Same results. Blooms, small green berries and then no berries. Finally one early morning as I peered through the mist I observed one climbing up and over the fence to get a berry.

Undaunted by my presence he scrambled back over and out preferring to eat the berry while perched on a deck post. All while watching me with a certain attitude of tail and body position.

I knew when I had lost.

In the meantime Ann Coulter continues to outrage the Lefties. Of course that is an easy thing to do but Ms Coulter does it with such style and sharp tongue that one must admire her efforts.

And of course we are finding that evil Repubs are encouraging the nut cases who have threatened some Demo politicians with grave bodily harm. How do I know?

Well, the Leftie Demos have told me so.

And the Repubs have condemned same while reminding the Demos of the threats against Repub politicians.

Of course the Demos have not condemned and/or acknowledged these threats. But after all, they are Leftie Democrats. Do you expect fairness and kindness?

Silly people.

And the sun today was warmer and the ground drier. I managed to get the upper front picked up and cleaned of its winter treasure of leaves and limbs. Plus the evergreen and azalea beds by the drive are now fertilized, cleaned and re-mulched.

In the process of doing this I killed a small copperhead. About as thick as my middle finger and maybe 8 inches long. I flipped him over while loading mulch from my mulch pile and immediately dispatched him with my shovel. Probably last year's crop but still able to cause some serious problems if he hangs a fang in you.

Ball practice tomorrow if the weather permits. Today the Grandson threw at the hanging target for about an hour despite my warning him about over extending his arm. Perhaps a sore elbow will convince him that old people picked up a bit of knowledge along the way.

On more serious things, Mostly Cajun reminds us that on March 23, 1775, Patrick Henry got a good rant going and finished it up like this.

It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, “Peace! Peace!” — but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish?
