If Spring comes, can Summer be far behind?

I mean Winter has come and stayed, and I don’t care what Shelley or Algore said, Spring has dithered so we have blathered, mostly about Obamie and radical Muslims. The first a dullard who doesn’t deserve the attention he commands. The second a bunch of killers who don’t get the attention they deserve.

I am ready for Spring and less politics and the despair that looking at where we are that brings, and more buttercups and more daffodils and more roses.

It is time to break up the ground and look at the seed catalogs and look up the average last frost day and think of setting out Better Boys and Better Girls a few weeks after the cabbage and onions and lettuce have been set. And planting more sunflowers at the edge of the yard for the squirrels and birds of next winter.

And where will we be then? Only a year ago we were deluged with the wit, wisdom and knowledge of The Chosen. Now 55% know what we knew then and disapprove of his professorial ways and that number will increase over the next year. A year ago man made Global Warming was widely accepted and had all the appearance of a landslide and yet we now have the cart being turned, although the ignorant ones still blather. It is the one good thing the English press has done for us.

Yet the economy still is in ruins. The price of oil has gone above $80 based on speculation that we may not be completely bankrupt this Summer and the jobless claims have spiked again. The headlines say that consumer confidence is the lowest since 1983 and all our politicians can think about is fixing a healthcare bill that most of us do not want fixed and spending money to create jobs.

What hogwash. How can something that has nothing create anything?

In Sunday School class this week the teacher brought up the word “reasonable.”

And it is a very good word because it defines what free people should base their lives on. It is reasonable for us to doubt Global Warming when scientists say there has not been any for 15 years and that they have lost the data. Indeed they seem to be unable to point to a datum yet they appear as unembarrassed as a whore hawking her wares on a street corner.

Societal wars are always fought on the edges. The Muslims do not come demanding that they be allowed to establish Sharia law. They come demanding that they be allowed to follow Sharia law as their religious right. That sounds reasonable until you consider that they moved to our country and that by doing that they are making us follow Sharia law.

“Reasonable” defines so very much. I have never gotten into trouble doing reasonable things. I have always gotten into trouble doing unreasonable things.

Some say that this is true because the old give up the fight after months of Winter. They have no energy left and slip away into that unknown night.

I say they see Summer coming and are just now ready to be part of it rather than being in it.

Yes, they really are watching us

Harriton High School student Blake Robbins and his parents, Michael and Holly Robbins, filed a federal civil rights lawsuit Tuesday against the district, its board of directors and McGinley. They accused the school of turning on the webcam in his computer while it was inside their Penn Valley home, which they allege violated wiretap laws and his right to privacy.

The suit, which seeks class-action status, alleges that Harriton vice principal Lindy Matsko on Nov. 11 cited a laptop photo in telling Blake that the school thought he was engaging in improper behavior. He and his family have told reporters that an official mistook a piece of candy for a pill and thought he was selling drugs.

So the school switches on the camera, sees a kid give someone a piece of candy and immediately decides that he's a drug dealer.

Blooming wonder they didn't call 911 and have the police knocking down the front door of his home.

Thank goodness he wasn't caught reading a Bible. Then they probably would have called 911.

This is just so wrong in so many ways.

And it proves again that the education system in this country has a woeful lack of common sense.

BTW dear chums. Maybe we should start finding the webcan lens on our computers and placing a piece of masking tape over it.... You never know in todays world.

One thing I do miss about Carter, at least in comparison to the current xxxxx, is that you could call Carter an ineffectual idiot and not be labeled racist.

With Obama, even the mildest criticism of his policies gets you branded as a KKK-robe-wearing, swastika tattooed, Birther redneck.

General Motors...meet the new boss...just like the old boss

NEW YORK (AP) -- General Motors Co. CEO Ed Whitacre will receive a salary of $1.7 million this year, plus stock awards that will bring his total pay package to $9 million at a later date, the automaker said Friday.

In a surprise announcement, GM also said former CEO Fritz Henderson has been rehired as a consultant. Henderson, who was forced out of the job in December, will work 20 hours a month and will be paid $59,090 a month, the company said.

Whitacre's total compensation is larger than Henderson's when he was CEO. Henderson received a total pay package worth nearly $5.5 million.

Whitacre's pay package includes a cash salary of $1.7 million that took effect Jan. 1. It also includes $5.3 million in stock awarded in increments starting in 2012, plus another stock award worth $2 million. The details, including the timing, of the $2 million stock award still need to be worked out, a GM spokeswoman said.

GM is 60 percent owned by the federal government and has received $52 billion in federal aid. The company plans to repay as much of the money as possible by issuing stock to the public, possibly as early as this year.

Now let me see. GM had to be bailed out or go under and now the new boss is just like the old boss.

Over paid beyond belief.

And to make it worse, the new boss needs the old boss to tell him what to do at a rate of $3000 an hour...

This is pure embarrassment to free enterprise. It is pure crap.

And it is a prime example of how the people at the top are being protected.

With the single exception of a '92 Ford Ranger I have driven GM for 30 plus years

I am done with'em. My next car will be a Ford, Japanese or Korean product.

The relentless and desperate efforts to justify anything Sarah Palin does is reaching fever pitch among some here. The winter Olympics should include the jumping through hoops and mind-boggling distances that our Sarahphiles here have obsessively had to stretch the truth in their obsessive compulsion of Sarah-worship.

I think there should be a law against Sarahphilia. If you are found guilty of Sarahphilia, your name should be on a list of registered offenders and you shouldn't be permitted within 200 yards of a voting booth.

A Family Guy voice actor, Andrea Friedman, who played a role in a recent controversial episode of the Fox animated comedy, has hit back at criticism from former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin.

Professional actor Andrea Friedman, who has Down Syndrome, fired back at criticism leveled at the comedy by Sarah Palin and her family after a joke made on the show.

In the Family Guy episode, guest starring Andrea Friedman titled “Extra, Large, Medium,” the show appeared to mock Sarah Palin’s son Trigg’s Down Syndrome.

In the episode, one of the show’s characters, Chris Griffin, dates a woman who apparently suffers from Down Syndrome, voiced by Andrea Friedman. The episodes makes comparisons to 2 year old Trigg Palin.

The Family Guy character who is played by Andrea Friedman tells Chris Griffin: “My dad’s an accountant, and my mom’s the former governor of Alaska.”

Later, the former GOP Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin said the Family Guy show “really isn’t funny” and was the work of “cruel, cold-hearted people.”

Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol also wrote that Family Guy writers were “mocking my brother (son?) and my family,” and called them “heartless jerks.”

39-year-old actor Andrea Friedman has since fired back at Palins remarks: “I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor. I thought the line “I am the daughter of the former governor of Alaska” was very funny. I think the word is “sarcasm.”

“In my family we think laughing is good. My parents raised me to have a sense of humor and to live a normal life.”

Yes indeed, laughing at mentally challenged children and their families..... I mean that is just a scream, eh?

Down's Syndrome comes, like most diseases, in different levels.

Often Down syndrome is associated with some impairment of cognitive ability and physical growth, and a particular set of facial characteristics.

Individuals with Down syndrome tend to have a lower than average cognitive ability, often ranging from mild to moderate developmental disabilities. A small number have severe to profound mental disability.

Ms Friedman appears to have a much lower level of the disease than many others.

And she has no idea as to the level that Palin's child suffers from the disease. Yet she attacks Palin for being outspoken about our need to be more supportive of challenged children.

And that's a shame. In years past children such as this were shunted away to "homes" where their care, in many cases, was marginal and the child's very existence was forgotten and denied. Even the Kennedy's had a daughter that was only vaguely acknowledged by the family and the press.

In today's world they are often aborted.

So Ms Friedman, probably pushed on by PDS'ers, has figuratively bitten the hand that has taken the disease nationally and has the ability to improve research and support.

Her excuse is that she has acted in ignorance.

What is the Left's excuse?
