Frank, unfortunately for your ideas, we have this thing called the First Amendment. To wit:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;".
I know it is getting increasing popular for the Elites of this world to want to just do away with our Constitution, and its protections, but it is clear that mandating that a religious based organization provide "free contraception" through employer provided health care violates the employer's God given rights... I write specifically of the Catholic Church's doctrine in this matter.
And to be transparent, I disagree with the doctrine. But it is their doctrine and they have every right to it now as they did about 236 years ago.
And to be even more transparent I believe the 14th Amendment guarantees the right for any one to marry anyone as long as they are of a legal age and consent. To wit:
"No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
I also know that airline pilots, doctors and educators are the world leaders in a disease called "The God Complex."
But they aren't. They are just skilled human beings who have this chance to either help us, AS WE WANT HELP, or to hurt us. And before you start to argue the point, go back and see the incredible harm that was done by Doctors in the Third Reich.
So take your ego and put it in your pocket and please quit telling us what we must do to fix a societal problem, not a medical one.
First do no harm is a powerful warning that you should consider.

In this case, you're more than happy to extend unlimited tolerance to those who are intolerant.. Teaching that contraception is evil and against God's Law is nothing but irrational, Catholic Sharia; founded on a revulsion of sex and a complete lack of compassion for the suffering of children and those unable to care for them.

However, the Constitution wasn't put in place to insure that the Bible is right or wrong.
It was put into place to insure freedom. In this case, freedom of religion.

Got it. You prioritize the guarantee of "freedom of religion" ahead of the demonstrable prevention of human suffering.

ReplyDeleteThe Constitution is, unless you are a member of Islam, a religion with many sects all of whom want the destruction of Christians and Jews as well was other Islamic sects, the only thing standing between freedom and safety and suffering.
Nowhere have I written that I am against individuals utilizing contraception. Indeed I specifically noted I disagreed with the church. But the church has the right to not provide it.
Pretty simple stuff, eh?
