Obama's Birth Certificate

Bump and up date.... The Dark Avenger has thoughtfully played secretary, again... He is as dependable as Pavlov's Dog on such yet his logic is so poor that I have decided to follow some sage advice that says don't argue with an idiot because others may not be able to tell the difference.

I will leave by noting that if he could squash his enemies by proving them wrong Obamie would do so in a heart beat!

One of our many West Coast correspondents, the original Dark Avenger (or maybe it's Weeder Gander) has graced us with the following in regards to the lack of information available about The One's proof of US citizenship. (We know he is not fit to be Prez so this is merely a formality.)

The following from the Washington Monthly is DA's learned comment. I am struck by his originality.

The electoral system has failed to satisfy lingering questions about Barack Obama's eligibility to serve as president.

The press has failed to satisfy those questions. The courts have failed to satisfy those questions. The Congress has failed to satisfy those questions.

But the people are still asking.

That's how Joseph Farah, editor and chief executive officer of WND, explains the petition he initiated several months ago that has collected nearly 400,000 names of Americans demanding answers as to Obama's elidibility [sic] as well as the outpouring of financial support for his new campaign to erect billboards around the country asking the simple question: "Where's the birth certificate?"

In just five days, the billboard campaign has been backed by about $45,000 in donations.

Obviously, the Birthers' argument is nuts. But the fact that they're still at it, seven months after the election, is extraordinary.

For Democrats, it's extraordinarily helpful, in large part because it makes the president's detractors appear insane. Former Clinton White House press secretary Jake Siewert said a few months ago, "At some level, they're not that bad to have around because it reminds people that under the mainstream conservative press there's this bubbling up of really irrational hatred for the guy."

But that's just among those who hear about this. As DougJ noted, there's the inconvenient fact that most Americans will see a billboard that reads, "Where's the birth certificate?" and won't have the foggiest idea what that means.

That the right-wing website claims to have raised "about $45,000 in donations" is especially great for Democrats, since that means $45,000 from far-right donors that won't go to something that might actually matter.

For the left in general, it's a win-win: unhinged conservatives waste their time on a silly exercise, devoting time and money to a campaign that only makes the right look even more wacky. The DNC ought to send WND a thank-you note.

I have always regarded the Obamie administration as watching "The Beverly Hillbillies" without the saving grace of Jeb and Granny's calm wisdom and the eye candy of Ellie Mae. The buffoonish antics of Jeffro serve to remind us that we have a President who has given away trillions and then announces sadly that we are "out of money."

As the kids say... "Well, duhhhhhhh."

Yet through all of this a few simple facts shine through.

Obamie is as partisan as any President in the history of the country. He cannot stand criticism, as he just demonstrated time and again. The far Right has pushed the birth certificate issue to the center of the stage and kept it there.

All he has to do to make them look foolish and shut them up is have Hawaii release the original...........That he does not says more than anyone else can say.

  1. Next time, BTW, I'll wait a few days to let you know when you have another misspelling mishap, since it doesn't seem to bring out the best in you when you have it brought to your attention immediately...............

  3. I've been thinking all along, why doesn't Obama simply show his birth certificate? I would pin it on my chest if I were him, everywhere I go. I would put it on huge billboards in every state. This, of course, if I had been born where I said I was....It's malicious of him not to reveal the truth, and to let the incertitude linger and deepen. You don't expect a USA President to act in that manner.

  4. Yes, that really is it. All he would have to do is have Hawaii release it and the far Right would look totally stupid, yet he does not.

    That says it all.

  5. why doesn't Obama simply show his birth certificate? He already did, it's just people like PPJ and yourself who don't want to face the facts in this case.

    From Snopes.com:

As things turned out, when the Obama campaign made a copy of his Certification of Live Birth from the State of Hawaii available on the Internet in June 2008, it validated none of those rumors: The certificate shows his full name to be "Barack Hussein Obama II," it lists his father's race as "African" and his mother's as "Caucasian," it contains no information about religion, and it reports his birthplace as being Honolulu, Hawaii.

A number of self-proclaimed experts immediately seized the opportunity to pronounce the certificate a forgery (even though none of them had actually seen the
original, just a scanned image of it), picking on such specious details as minor variations from other Hawaii-issued certificates and the lack of an embossed seal and signature. (Some forgery claimants even maintained that the certificate was actually an altered version of one issued to Barack Obama's half-sister, Maya.) Aside from the inherent absurdity of such claims (i.e., that a major party presidential nominee would risk his entire candidacy on a fraud that could be uncovered simply by a check of state health records), the supposedly incriminating details don't pan out: the certificate is consistent with others issued in the same time and place, and the embossed seal and signature don't show through very well on the scanned front image made available on the Internet because they were applied to the back of the original document, not the front. Those who have actually touched and examined the original certificate have verified and documented that it bears all the elements of a valid certificate of live birth.

Moreover, both of Honolulu's major newspapers (the Advertiser and the Star-Bulletin) published announcements in August 1961 documenting the birth, in Honolulu, of a son to "Mr. and Mrs. Barack H. Obama" on 4 August 1961
    ..............................

Also in October 2008, Hawaiian officials reported that they had personally verified the existence of Barack Obama's original birth certificate:

State officials say there's no doubt Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.

Health Department Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino says she and the registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, have personally verified that the health department holds Obama's original birth certificate.

Fukino says that no state official, including Gov. Linda Lingle, ever instructed that Obama's certificate be handled differently from any other.

She says state law bars release of a certified birth certificate to anyone who does not have a tangible interest in it.
I hope my tags aren't too distracting for anyone, people get so picky over details these days.......

Glad to answer your question, Claudia, C'est trop vrai!

  7. I would say; Stop talking, and show me the money!

    Or: Where's the beef?

I don't want a big bunch of words. I want the document. Now. For MY eyes to see. Period.

Have a good night, Jim. :-)

    I wasn't born yesterday...

  11. Would that use the same technology as the infamous fake CBS news memo that damned Bush days befor the 2006 election???Actually, the broadcast was in 09/2004, not days before the 2006 elections, unless by days you mean 'hundreds of days".

As for the birth certificate, it's the same image that Drew Zann, in the 08/23/2008 edition of WND reported about:

“a separate World Net Daily investigation into Obama‘s birth certificate utilizing forgery experts also found the document to be authentic.”Somehow I am not impressed. But I realize that letting the truth get in the way of a good rant isn't your style.

You still haven't explained how Obamas' birth got published in the Hawaii newspaper after he was born if he wasn't born in Hawaii in the first place.

Sorry to bring up these pesky facts to darken your day ;-)

  12. Would that be an authentic forgery??

When our first child was born my Mother had it noted in the local paper..... even though the birth took place 1200 miles away...
