The right to bear arms.
The following link will take you to one of the most powerful statements regarding our right to bear arms that I have ever seen. Given the recent actions by nut cases I know that they will be used by those that want us disarmed and dependent only on the police for our protection to try and take our weapons away.
As I watched I was mindful that if even one teacher at Columbine had been armed the killing would have been reduced. Many would have been saved. But the video is not about Columbine.
I also remembered that a policeman was at Columbine, but was told not to go in at the start because he might shoot someone by mistake.
So much for police protection.
Hat tip to rabidpooch at the Tennessean for the video location.

Actually, the guard fled without any directions from anyone else, but you shouldn't let facts get in the way of a good rant.
ReplyDeleteOne individual armed going up against 2 armed guys, yeah, that would've worked well at Columbine.
Actually he was a deputy sheriff and he was told not to go in and to wait for SWAT.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, if nothing else he could have distracted them from their methodical and slow killing spree. Maybe the teacher who bled to death could have had time to get out.....
And the point is that the police, in this case county deputies, won't arrive on the scene fast enough. Time and again in these cases of nut cases on killing sprees, force must be met with force immediately.
of course you Lefties had rather talk.... safer that way... for the talkers...
Actually he was a deputy sheriff and he was told not to go in and to wait for SWAT.
ReplyDeleteReally?
Soon thereafter, at approximately 11:24 a.m., a Jefferson County deputy sheriff arrived at the scene and began shooting at Harris and Klebold, distracting them from the injured Brian Anderson.[4] Anderson staggered out of the area and made it into the library where he ran into an open staff break room, remaining there until the ordeal ended. Harris fired ten shots at the officer, who then radioed in a Code 33 (officer in need of emergency assistance)
And yeah, if nothing else he could have distracted them from their methodical and slow killing spree.
Except that he was shooting at them already, contrary to your version of events.
Time and again in these cases of nut cases on killing sprees, force must be met with force immediately.
Except, again, the facts demonstrate that one armed person can't take on two people who are armed.
Of course you Lefties had rather talk.
Some of us "Lefties" would like to debate with the facts, not a version of reality that fits your preconceptions on the subject.
I'm sorry, I'd rather believe that lying Wikipedia article, not what you 'remember' happened at Columbine.
As usual you know enough to be dumb.
ReplyDeleteThere were shots exchanged, but the deputy was prevented from going in.
Since he was outside and they were inside killing people he couldn't have been shooting at them.
The fact remains. The powers that be prevented the officers from going in. Jefferson County took a lot of rightful heat over that and rightfully so.
People who are killing people must be confronted as they are trying to do it. Shooting at buildings and surrounding buildings may insure the killers are captured or eventually killed.....
BUT THAT DOES NOT SAVE A SINGLE INNOCENT VICTIMS LIFE.
Now, run off and talk about how the "plan" failed. talk talk talk
I'm a Leftie and I talk talk talk.
There were shots exchanged, but the deputy was prevented from going in.
ReplyDeleteSo, after exchanging shots, how was he suppose to go in and defeat two armed men when he has only the one gun which presumably he would have to reload after such an exchange.
Too bad you can't link to anything supporting your version, but,
As usual you know enough to be dumb.
As for what happened after Gardner exchanged shots:
This was 11:24 AM, only five minutes after shooting was first reported at the school. At 11:30 Gardner was still outside the school. None of Harris’ shots had hit Gardner, or even his patrol car.
Following the CNN timeline…
“By 11:30, within four minutes of Gardner’s reports of shots being fired in the building and the need for additional units, six Jefferson County deputies, including Gardner, were on scene.”
The deputies set up a “perimeter” outside the school, while shooting and explosions continued inside.
“By day’s end, nearly 1000 law enforcement officers and emergency medical personnel were on scene.”
Here, “on the scene” means “outside the school.”
That the police and SD's bungled the response doesn't mean your greater point is correct, but then I realize you have your own problems with the truth.
Now, run off and talk about how the "plan" failed.
Yes, you're such a man of action, sitting in your comfortable room and spewing bile when you can't make a case based on the facts.
You're correct on the greater issue of when there was a greater police presence, but to send an officer to go up against two people with rifles when the officer has is a handgun is a fast way to get a dead LEO and nothing more.
That kind of strategy WON'T SAVE A SINGLE INNOCENT VICTIMS' LIFE.
I lived 10 minutes from Columbine. I got all the local coverage real time. I don't need a CNN transcript to understand this basic fact.
ReplyDeleteThe deputy called for help and was going in but he was told to wait for SWAT. The fear was that he would kill innocent bystanders.
And no one was shooting at them as they went through the school killing childrena and teachers.
That's a fact. Live with it.
Now, what could he have done? Driven to the opposite entrance?? Gone in and fired some shots in the air to distract the killers??
The police are pledged to serve and protect. 99% of the protection is based on people not committing crimes for fear of captue and punishment. When that fear is absent then the protection is gone. That's when you need armed persons besides the police.
Instead the Left wants to depend on the police. It didn't work at Columbine, at VT, at the resturnant in the linked video and it didn't work for 9/11 and Obamie's actions are pissing it away on the International scene.
See ship. See pirates....
I laugh at the irony......

ReplyDeleteHow about yours?
