Tom Brokaw destroys Town Hall debate

Debate? Was there a debate tonight??

This was supposed to a Town Hall affair. But now we find out that the qustions were submitted and then selected by Tom "I am biggger than the election" Brokaw.

Tom seemed especially interested in not letting the candidates talk.

Instead he asked the same questions that are asked by him and his peers. And as anyone could expect, we got the same answers. Nothing new was asked, nothing new was learned except Hussein did finally, in an off hand way, admitted that he said he would meet with the leader of Iran without pre-condition.

Disgusting.

The polls now all indicate an Obama win on Nov. 4; some even suggest a landslide… .

Anger over the Wall Street mess has been pushing voters to Barack Obama in droves. And John McCain’s effort to get involved in the solution only hurt him.

By suspending his campaign and heading to Washington, McCain made himself a central actor in the unpopular bailout, and thus a target of populist outrage. It also hurt his his effort to show how he far he is from President Bush — there he was, shoulder to shoulder with Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson, Bush and Wall Street.

  2. Well, being the stubborn type I think I will wait for the election if all you Lefties don't mind...

In the meantime several of the polls.... go to UrgentAgenda...show some shift towards McCain.

Will the shift continue? Don't know and I claim only that I have called every election right since 1960... but this one I just don't know and I doubt anyone does.

If McCain has any cheer in his glass it is that at this point in 2000 Bush was DOWN 11% to Algore... instead of the 3% some show for McCain...

A lot will depend on how aggressive McCain and Palin are in identifying the real crooks.... and they started that today in Wisconsin, calling out Dodd and Frank...

I do enjoy watching Hussein complaing that McCain hasn't brought the Ayers issue to his face... First, he may get what he wants but not want what he gets.

Secondly, the more he talks about it the more curious the voters will be...
