The Surge didn't work. Right? Wrong.

RAMADI, Iraq: Two years ago, Anbar Province was the most lethal place for American forces in Iraq. A U.S. marine or soldier died in the province nearly every day, and the provincial capital, Ramadi, was a moonscape of rubble and ruins. Islamic extremists controlled large pieces of territory, with some so ferocious in their views that they did not even allow the baking of bread.

On Monday, U.S. commanders formally returned responsibility for keeping order in Anbar Province, once the heartland of the Sunni insurgency, to the Iraqi Army and police.

I know you won't see this any place else.

  1. Glad you and I agree that the surge worked. Here is another post on the surge that I wanted to share with you.

  2. Thanks.

The MSM is ignoring the war in the hopes that no one will notice we're winning.

I also believe that if Hussein wins the terrorists will launch a last ditch effort to kill Americans and give him a "reason" to withdraw immediately.

  5. Can't stand the truth about the surge, PPJ?

    Typical.

  6. I don't mind the truth, I just don't want to read you making excuses for Hussein by using the Media's pitiful excuse making machine for the Democrats.

Now. The bar is closed. Have a nice day, but not in my house.

  7. I don't understand how a quote from Woodward makes excuses for Obama, except in your fevered mind.

If the bar is closed, does this mean you're beginning to sober up?

    Just wondering.

  8. Snark aside...

Woodward is just providing cover. Hussein an claim that yes, things are better, but not because of the surge.....

The fact is that the additional troops provided enough security for a variety of other tactics to come into play.

  9. Woodward is just providing cover

That doesn't address the question of what Woodward wrote was true or not.

I'm just here to help you learn the truth PPJ, whether it fits into your preconceived notion of how things work, or not.

  10. Slow this morninag are you??

Whatever tactics used besides military assistance worked because the military surge in troops provided stability and protection.

So when Wrongward mumbles about "other tactics" he is wrong in his assertion and he is just providing cover for Hussein of the 57 States if America to hide behind.

No, but thanks for asking, Yoda.

Whatever tactics used besides military assistance worked because the military surge in troops provided stability and protection.

No, there was change going on in Anbar province before the surge.

It makes more sense that using counter-intelligence and spying on the insurgents would make the difference than the Surge, and that's what he wrote, whether you like it or not.

Your last line is funny, I would invite everyone to read Woodwards' reporting(which you deleted, BTW, in my first post) and determine which one of us is closer to reality.

  12. Hmmmm did I delete Wroinward's mumbles? I hope so.

Your argument says that stability and the locals wanting to be on the "winning side" wasn't important.

Again. Wrongward is just trying to find something negative to say about the Surge and provide cover for Hussein of the 57 United Staes.

It makes sense only to the kool aid drinkers of the Looney Left and other media members in the tank for Hussein of the 57 United States.
