Canada does it again

An American war deserter could have a valid claim for refugee status in Canada, the Federal Court ruled on Friday.

In a decision that may have an impact on dozens of refugee claimants in Canada, Federal Court Justice Robert Barnes said Canada's refugee board erred by rejecting the asylum bid of Joshua Key. He ordered that a new panel reconsider the application.

Maybe we should send a team in and bring him out.

That would frost their rumps, eh?

  1. We'll probably get all your American cowards, like we did during the Vietnam War. Later on, you'll vote for a President who will welcome them back with an unconditional pardon. It was the Great Carter, wasn't it? Who voted for this disastrous man? Many of the deserters did not return to USA. They decided to stay in Canada. First-class, quality immigrants!! Just what we needed.

Well, apparently Australia outbacks had to be peopled with English felons. Can't be too choosey to develop a backward, unimportant country like Canada. Send them in. You don't want that type of Americans crowding your country, do you?

With my love. As usual. ;-)

  2. Is that a wee bit of grumpiness I detect there??

    ;-)

Actually I want Canada to send them home so that we can put them in prison for a very long or hang them by the neck until dead.

  3. You don't hang traitors in USA. Jane Fonda is very much alive. Didn't even shed a tear with her phony apologies, made a fortune advising her American sisters how to stay in shape, still appears on Hollywood's red carpet at Oscar time. If I would be a Vietnam veteran, or had lost a husband, son or brother, I would scratch her face with delight.

Lifting my glass to your good health! Old Grumpy in Canada.

  4. Sadly, you are correct.

    As for Fonda...

Claudia, you are my kind of woman!

And to your wealth, health and long life!
