Bits and pieces

Good morning chums!

It is a brisk late spring morning and the furnace is spinning away. A casual look at the April utility bill shows steep increases over past April's. Something is going on here and it isn't Global Warming.

Just heard someone on "Fox and Friends" note that SNL has changed from supporting Hillary to supporting Hussien. Well, surprise, surprise Sgt Carter!!! Loyalty and the Swellheads of Gollywood aren't known to exist in the same universe.

I also heard the female member of the trio ask for advice on how to handle a bird nest over a door she apparently uses to enter/exit her home. The bird has attacked her and she doesn't want to disturb the nest...

Well, duh. How about using another door??? Even sharecropper shotgun houses had two doors.

Bush is on his way to Israel and the ME. Maybe he'll bring back some oil. You think?

I see that a 7.8 magnitude earthquake has hit China. I am sure WalMart immediately sent help... BUMP and UPDATE.... My boss found the previous untowardly. Perhaps. Let me assure one and all that it was meant as a jibe at how China dominates WalMart's supply chain, and not a swipe at the victims of the earthquake.

PHOENIX (AP) - Fifty-three illegal immigrants found Sunday had been held against their will in a fortified home by suspected smugglers demanding more money, authorities said.

Do you think we could get that published in the Mexican media??? You know, let them know that bad things can happen north of the border??

Missouri, aka as the "Show Me State" is the latest state to schedule a vote on whether or not voters must be able to prove they are citizens.

The Missouri secretary of state, Robin Carnahan, a Democrat who opposes the measure, estimated that it could disenfranchise up to 240,000 registered voters who would be unable to prove their citizenship

A Democrat opposing the right for walk-in cultural sojourners, aka Illegal Aliens, to vote? Shocking, eh? What's more shocking is his belief that 240,000 people don't have birth certificates... How are they going to get welfare???

In the meantime:

In Arizona, the only state that requires proof of citizenship to register to vote, more than 38,000 voter registration applications have been thrown out since the state adopted its measure in 2004. That number was included in election data obtained through a lawsuit filed by voting rights advocates and provided to The New York Times.

It is always helpful when the enemy proves your point. And then...

More than 70 percent of those registrations came from people who stated under oath that they were born in the United States, the data showed.

Rejecting my natural inclination to say yeah, sure... Let's assume that the 70% is a real number. No one fibbing. No one committing perjury.... That leaves 30%, or about 11,400 who wouldn't swear under oath... which is significant to me...

Finally, we are starting to get the word on why West Virginia won't support Hussein.

“I heard that Obama is a Muslim and his wife’s an atheist,” said Mr Simpson, drawing on a cigarette outside the fire station in Williamson, a coalmining town of 3,400 people surrounded by lush wooded hillsides.

No, no, no Mr.Simpson. He only had two fathers who are Muslim and went to a Muslim school when he was living in Indonesia...

Later chums.
