New Obama video raises questions

The video is interesting in that it points out, again, that we know very little about Obama.

I mean we knew more about Joe The Plumber within hours of his famous questions to Obama than we knew, and still don't know, about the man the Left elected President.

Pelosi attacks Ground Zero Mosque opponents

You absolutely cannot make this stuff up.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, called for an investigation of those who are protesting the building of the Ground Zero Mosque on Tuesday. She told San Francisco's KCBS radio:

"There is no question there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some. And I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded," she said. "How is this being ginned up that here we are talking about Treasure Island, something we've been working on for decades, something of great interest to our community as we go forward to an election about the future of our country and two of the first three questions are about a zoning issue in New York City." (h/t Kristinn)

Yes, Dear Leader. Millions of us oppose you and the proposed GZ mosque.

So what is your response, oh great House Leader and protector of our Constitution...

You want to investigate us.

Shame on you, Dear Leader. Shame. Shame. Shame.

And has the opponents calls for finding out who is paying for this national insult been heeded?

Calls to investigate the funding for those proposing the $100 million "Cordoba House" have fallen on deaf ears, though, as New York's Mayor Mike Bloomberg has described such an investigation as "un-American."

This is typical Leftie stuff. Attack America and ignore those who want to demean and insult us.

Why? Why does the Left rush to assist these people and attack those of us who oppose this national insult.

Because the Left hates America. The radical Muslim extremists hate America. The old saying:

"An enemy of my enemy is my friend" explains it all."

Ray Bradbury

has always been a favorite of mine. His fantasy and scifi works fascinated me as a boy and "Fahrenheit 451" is one of the greatest prophecy novels ever written. So when he says something it is worth listening to:

“We have too many cellphones. We've got too many Internets. We have got to get rid of those machines. We have too many machines now.”

Bradbury wrote darkly about bookburning in "Fahrenheit 451," but he sounds ready to use a Kindle for kindling. “I was approached three times during the last year by Internet companies wanting to put my books" on an electronic reading device, he said. "I said to Yahoo, 'Prick up your ears and go to hell.'

Global cooling strikes CA

It hasn't been the coolest summer on record, but it's been close, forecasters say.

The average temperature in July was 79 degrees, five degrees below normal, and the first eight days of this month also have been five to six degrees below normal, weather experts said.

That could put Southern California on track for a near-record-low summer, but it's still too early to say, according to weather experts. The Los Angeles area, in fact, has had below-normal temperatures every month since April

"The fruits and vegetables, the tomatoes and a lot of the citrus and things like raspberries are not ripening up because it's not getting hot long enough," she said, adding that some fruit could taste less sweet because less sun means less sugar content

And that’s the difference between global warming and global cooling. Warming increases food production. Cooling decreases food production.

Which one would a rational person worry about?

All through history periods of global cooling have been associated with war, famine and disease. Warmer weather brought expansion, a food surplus and advances in civilization.

Yet we are all in a dither over supposed global warming.

I think we should be storing food.

Mosque closed by authorities

The canary has been used for years as an early warning of poison gas in the mines of the world. Europe should be seen as ours regarding the threats posed by radical Muslims.

A Hamburg mosque once frequented by some of the Sept. 11 attackers was shut down Monday because German authorities believe the prayer house was again being used as a meeting point for Islamic radicals.
The Taiba mosque was closed and the cultural association that runs it was banned, Hamburg officials said in a statement.
"We have closed the mosque because it was a recruiting and meeting point for Islamic radicals who wanted to participate in so-called jihad or holy war," said Frank Reschreiter, a spokesman for Hamburg's state interior ministry.

Looks like the Germans are catching on.
