“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”

------Martin Niemöller

If unpopular views are not allowed, who will decide what is popular?

If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them." - Karl Popper

Tiresome BS from the Chattering Class

If I have heard it once I have heard it a thousand times from the “media class.” It goes like this and is not limited to Lefties or Righties as well as the two or three in the middle.

“Trump is getting in the way of his own message.”

The crux of this is that the audience is not capable of entertaining multiple messages at the same time. That is nonsense. People hear/see/read information all the time and act on the inputs. It is the “media class” who can’t adjust to the new world and just be an information conduit.  They believe that it is their job to tell us what they think happened or was said.

This stems from the “journalism” disease that has infected most reporters. Their self-importance knows no bounds. Just as salesmen became account managers reporters became journalists. Supposedly this signified that they had attended a journalism school.

However, technology rules and change happens. Among the many jobs destroyed by the Internet were telephone operators, travel agents and many retail clerks.

A few years back the average newspaper reader would read the editorial page and a few columnists during the week. Many people did neither. The Internet opened up multiple inputs to the average person. Trump understood this and tapped into it. He is now President.

He can twitter in the morning about one thing while yesterday he announced something else. This bothers no one except the media who seemingly want only to write about something else.

Mr. or Ms “Journalist”, say hello to the dinosaurs.
