Poker Player fixes man made global warming

Reporter: Is that you Poker Player?

Poker Player: And who else would be answering my phone?

Reporter: I wouldn’t know.

Poker Player: I know, but thanks for calling. I guess you got my message.

Reporter: Yeah.

Poker Player: So. What do you think?

Reporter: Well, I don’t understand.

Poker Player: About what?

Reporter: If I understand this you want me to help you fix the county fair best hog contest.

Poker Player: That’s about it..

Reporter: ……by threatening to expose the actions of the judges…

Poker Player: Yeah, I figure Mayor Jones won’t want everyone to know him and his secretary spend lunch every Thursday down at the Shady Pines motel…

Reporter: Everybody already knows that…

Poker Player: And that Councilman Smith went to the Gay Pride parade in Pelosi Town.

Reporter: Everybody already knows that…

Poker Player: Yeah, but it ain’t been in the paper..

Reporter: That would make me liable…

Poker Player: It ain’t libel if it’s true.

Reporter: Not libel. It’d make me liable to get fired.

Poker Player: Oh. But it’s for a good cause.

Reporter: Huh?

Poker Player: You betcha. The fight against man made global warming is important…

Reporter: So is my job.

Poker Player: And even Dr. Schneider said, “Each of us has to decide the right balance between being effective and being honest.”

Reporter: You been goofing around on the Internet again.

Poker Player: Well, sometimes the on line games get boring.

Reporter: When did you get interested in manmade global warming?

Poker Player: Well, it’s been on my mind ever since that government man caused all my chicks to die by making me use CFL’s…

Reporter: I see.

Poker Player: Yeah. That was terrible. So I started reading up…..

Reporter: I see.

Poker Player: And I’ve figured out what’s causing it.

Reporter: Many scientists say it’s man made carbon dioxide… some blame cycles in the sun’s radiance…

Poker Player: They’re all wrong.

Reporter: All? Wrong?

Poker Player: Yeah. It is black hogs.

Reporter: Huh?

Poker Player: Yeah. You see, I read that black objects absorb heat and then release that heat when things start to cool…

Reporter: Yeah.

Poker Player: And white objects reflect much of the heat… so black hogs hold the heat in that the white hogs were reflecting...

Reporter: So? Hogs?

Poker Player: Yeah. Now I know you ain’t been around here and don’t know anything about farming..

Reporter: True.

Poker Player: Well, for years and years, up until the early 80’s most folks cooked their food in lard.

Reporter: Lard?

Poker Player: Yeah, lard. You make it from hog fat.

Reporter: Huh? Yeah. After you kill hogs you trim the fat and cook it down and make lard.

Poker Player: And white’s had more fat than blacks…

Reporter: I don’t see..

Poker Player: I know you don’t. Now listen. About that time everybody got all excited about having too much fat in their food....

Reporter: Yeah…

Poker Player: So all the farmers started raising blacks…

Reporter: Huh?

Poker Player: They have less fat. So we wound up with thousands upon thousands of black hogs laying around just soaking up the sunshine and radiating it back when the sun went down…

Reporter: Good heavens……

Poker Player: Yeah. Now I’ve applied for a government grant…

Reporter:……to raise white hogs…

Poker Player: You catch on quick.

Reporter: I feel queasy.

Poker Player: Don’t hang up….

Reporter… and you want me to help you fix the Best Hog of Show so that your whites win…

Poker Player:… Yeah. After that I figure everybody will start raising whites and the world will be saved!

Reporter: Have you done any studies on any of this?

Poker Player: Yeah, but as soon as I did the trick on the data I destroyed the original….

Reporter: I hope you haven’t been sending any emails…

Monkeys

Monkeys....

Start with a cage containing five monkeys. Inside the cage, hang a banana on a string and place a set of stairs under it. Before long, a monkey will go to the stairs and start to climb towards the banana.

As soon as he touches the stairs, spray all the other monkeys with cold water. After a while another monkey makes the attempt with same result, all the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it.

Now, put the cold water away. Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and wants to climb the Stairs.

To his shock, all of the other monkeys attack him. After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs he will be assaulted.

Next, remove another of the original five monkeys and replace it with a new one.

The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment with enthusiasm.

Likewise, replace a third original monkey with a new one, then a fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs he is attacked.

Hang on!

Most of the monkeys that are beating him up have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs, nor why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey. After replacing all of the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, no monkey ever again approaches the stairs to try for the banana.

Why not?

Because as far as they know, that is the way it has always been done around here.

And that, my fellow monkeys, is how Congress operates.

And that is why we need to replace ALL of the original monkeys this November!

Of garages and mosques and Pontiacs

I'm still sweating and painting and making the garage “neat.”

Garages ain’t supposed to be neat. Besides, I knew where everything was. Now, what do I do with those 4 jars of screws, nuts, bolts and various other pieces of hardware?

And I want to puke and it’s not the heat.

It’s all this PC BS about interfaith cultural understanding.

Look. I understand that Islam has provided the basis of some radicals to attack and kill. And speaking bluntly, I don’t see Muslims doing anything about it. They are screaming, “Don’t blame us!”

Okay. Now get your finger out of my eye and move this Ground Center Mosque to Hackensack.

I’m very tolerant.

And I love it when someone yells, “its New York’s business!”

Nice to know we have Leftie support for AZ1070. Who knew?

I mean, is building a mosque in a place that is special to millions of Americans and who oppose it being there the actions of a Muslim group that is wanting to be inclusive and get a long?

No. It’s not. It’s a deliberate insult.

And every politician who has supported this must pay a political price. Bloomberg in particular must have his career ended.

Onward…

Did you ever wonder if, a 100 years from now, the citizens of Pontiac, MI will remember why a car was named after it?

I had a Booneville, but never a Chieftain. The Bonneville was a ’78 and I used it in business and then as a personal car. Finally sold it to a cabbie in Seattle. Saw it on the street about 5 years later. I recognized a distinctive dent in the rear bumper.

Nice machine. The only problem it had was the PVC valve never worked right and the air filter holder was always full of oil. It would pass everything but a service station.

Going back to the 9/11 mosque site discussion:

A mosque is far more than 4 walls and a dome. average muslims meet in the mosque at least once a day and devoute ones about 3 -5 times a day. Imams (moderate or extreme) preach to their congregation on all these times. Imam has considerable power over his listeners.

Meeting in mosque gives what ever sh$$t imam is preaching religious sanction and brings any questions or concerns to a dead stop. Do you seriously think meeting in starbucks, an imam can produce suicide bombers?

Even a moderate muslim (truly moderate one like my husband who prays only once a week and drinks alcohol and has married a non-muslim and not bothered to convert me) dare not contradict fellow muslims in a mosque - how ever radical or nonsense they are talking. such is the power of community. So calling a mosque just another building is a bit naive.

It is important to look into the ideology of this particular imam and the people funding this mosque. other than that there is really not much anyone can do since the law of this land protects religious freedom.

Appealing to muslims to make any accommodation to hurt feelings of non-muslims is a waste of time. It will not happen. there is NO history of Muslims of any stripe accommodating for any one other than perhaps out of fear.

Kinda nasty but the writer appears to have some actual experience.

Back to painting and sweat blogging….

Took a few days off to do some travel and then a day of rest and a day of yard work.. a three acre or so yard to mow and acres more of trees to worry with and pick up limbs around keep me busy.

Played in a free roll poker tournament. Came home with my investment intact. For you non-players a “free roll” means it costs nothing to enter, thus my investment was nothing and my grubby gambling winnings was…nothing. Rats. But I did have fun!

Pulled up all the tomato plants and watered the bell peppers, cucumbers, squash and okra. Everything except the okra is on its last legs. The okra will grow until the frost hits.

Froze enough black eyed peas to make a dent in the winter’s grocery bills. Corn and homemade spaghetti mix is frozen and ready. The okra is next on the list… Okra and spaghetti with the special mix and a salad on a cold winter night. Wow.

Hotter than normal summers always seem to follow colder than normal winters.

I see that the hoodoos in NYC have approved the Muslims building a mosque on the 9/11 site… and for those who want to argue, the landing gear of one of the hijacked airliners went through the building…. but hey! Why should we care when Muslims want to do what they want to do?

Aren’t we supposed to just be soooooooo tolerant? Can someone tell me when my turn comes?

“Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.” – Karl Popper

And don’t forget Muslim Six Flags Day on 9/12! My, my what a coincidence!

Brett Favre is retiring is not retiring… again.

Am I the only person to get the connection between Bart Star and Brett Favre and Bart Maverick and Bret Maverick?????

Good news… The University of Tennessee has signed the nation’s top punter. Bad news…. We’ll probably need him.

Sometimes you shouldn't ask

A man is watching a game of golf on TV. But he keeps switching channels to a dirty movie featuring a lusty couple having raucous sex.

"I don't know whether to watch them or the game", he says to his wife.

“For Heaven's sake, watch them," his wife says, "You already know how to play golf."

Understanding Sharia Law

and why it is not compatible with the US Constitution is quite easy.

It won't start with stoning women...

Start by watching this.

I will give Minneapolis some small amount of credit for finally pushing back. But it has taken over three years and note that the first move by the bureaucrats was to bend and deal rather than enforcing the law.

And even then only after local and national outrage.
