And before you read further, I'm going to remind you to dig back through the posts and note that I have posted in support of Gay Rights.
But this is just nonsense.
As the Mariners played the Boston Red Sox on May 26, Sirbrina Guerrero and her date were approached in the third inning by an usher who told them their kissing was inappropriate, Guerrero said.
A ballpark is a public place. Actions of any type that result in making someone else uncomfortable should not happen. Now if this was a smack on the cheek, or a brief lip to lip kiss I would say, so what. But apparently it was plural.
And I would say the same thing if it was a guy and a gal.
Look folks. There are plenty of places to make out. The middle of a major league ball park with 20,000 people looking on isn't one.

Yeah, this kind of thing is disgusting:
ReplyDeletePretty much anyone who's been to a ballgame knows about the "kiss cam." It's a feature at stadiums when music is played, and unsuspecting fans are caught on camera, forced to embrace in an awkward kiss that is shown in front of the entire stadium on the jumbotron. Usually this is reserved strictly for fans. Apparently that is not the case at Chase Field where the Diamondbacks play:
Toward the end of the segment, the camera showed [Kevin] Kouzmanoff standing on the top rail of the visitor's dugout next to infielder Oscar Robles. After a couple of awkward seconds, Kouzmanoff leaned over and pretended to plant a kiss on Robles.
The crowed howled in delight, as did many of Kouzmanoff's coaches and his teammates.
"That was," Padres manager Bud Black said, "a lighter moment."
Aww, those cute playful folks in Phoenix. Can't blame them; they had to do something to liven things while the D-Backs were busy getting struck out 16 times. And remember, in case you ever get caught on the kiss cam, make sure it doesn't look like this.
