How to tell a writer is in the tank for Hussein 57

It's really simple. Just look for a talking point of Hussein 57's campaign minions that is inserted into a sentence/phrase that adds nothing to the sentence's subject besides the talking point.

For example.

The rise of McCain as their champion is not without irony, since the 71-year-old Arizona senator has quarreled with his own party for years on issues as diverse as immigration, campaign finance reform and global warming

What does McCain's age have to do with the claim that he has been at odds on various issues with some Repubs?

You can also get a grasp of the writer's politics by the obviously wrong claims made in an article.

Democrat Travis Childers on Tuesday won Mississippi's first congressional district, one of the safest Republican seats in the country, following his party's recent special election wins in Illinois and Louisiana.

Now, if the district had been "safe," how did Childers win? Obviously it wasn't, and since the Repubs spent a ton of money, and had a visit by Cheney and help from McCain, the Repubs knew it was in trouble.

You can also tell by what the writer leaves out. In this case it is the fact that the wins provide no real advantage as an incumbent since the general election is only months away and the winners must run again.
