Bump and Update! Obama's Mandatory Volunteers for 250,000 strong National Civilian Security Service

BUMP AND UPDATE

The problem is, no believes Obama. He writes books and no one believes what he says. He associates with self-identified terrorists who acts as Marxists and no one believes that he agrees with the Marxists. He tells us on TV that he wants to redistribute the wealth, and no one believes.

And even tells us that he needs a "Civilian National Security Force" that is just as strong, just as powerful, just as well funded as the military... and nobody believes him. Let's review this.

Click on this for the video of Obama.

I mean, how could he put this together.

Well, welcome to HR Bill 1188.... It spells it all out. We will have a volunteer mandatory force. And it has already passed the House and is in the Senate to be scheduled for a vote.

The U.S. House of Representatives has approved a plan to set up a new "volunteer corps" and consider whether "a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people" should be developed.

The legislation also refers to "uniforms" that would be worn by the "volunteers" and the "need" for a "public service academy, a 4-year institution" to "focus on training" future "public sector leaders." The training, apparently, would occur at "campuses."

The vote yesterday came on H.R. 1388, which reauthorizes through 2014 the National and Community Service Act of 1990 and the Domestic Volunteer Service Act of 1973, acts that originally, among other programs, funded the AmeriCorps and the National Senior Service Corps.

It not only reauthorizes the programs, but also includes "new programs and studies" and is expected to be funded with an allocation of $6 billion over the next five years, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Many, however, are raising concerns that the program, which is intended to include 250,000 "volunteers," is the beginning of what President Obama called his "National Civilian Security Force" in a a speech last year in which he urged creating an organization as big and well-funded as the U.S. military. He has declined since then to elaborate.

Now I know, I know. World Net Daily can be a little hysterical from time to time, and besides that it is composed of people who believe in God, think we are a Constitutional Republic... all that kinda stuff... so maybe we should take it with a grain of salt.

So let's do this! Let's go to a government web site, and see what the Bill says.
Not, mind you, what I think, or WND thinks.... But just the words from the Bill.

Expresses the sense of the Congress that the number of AmeriCorps, VISTA, and NCCC participants should reach 250,000 by 2014.

Okay, fair enough. That's obviously the National Civilian Security Force he was talking about. Now, what else should we notice?

If we are talking about volunteers, why not call them "volunteers." But that isn't the word....

of AmeriCorps, VISTA, and NCCC participants should reach 250,000 by 2014

Such a simple thing, but if you mean volunteers and you are writing a law, why not write what you mean?

Congressional Commission on Civic Service Act - Establishes a Congressional Commission on Civic Service to provide recommendations to Congress on improving opportunities for individuals to volunteer or perform national service.

Let's look at the end phrase

on improving opportunities for individuals to volunteer or perform national service

Now that's strange. If they are talking about volunteers, wouldn't you just write:

"on improving opportunities for individuals to volunteer for
national service"

I mean, why the awkward wording? Why the "to perform?" Simple. Anyone reading it next year can see plainly that the act is meant to help people volunteer...... but if not enough do so.... be required "to perform."

And why would Obama need such?

Anybody here ever hear of the SS? Brown shirts? They were the folks who established and ran the Nazis for Hitler. Now I know that puts me in the "Oh he's paranoid pile," but just sit down and start thinking.

And what is the other trait that dictators share? They are in front of the people continually. Have you been able to turn your TV on lately without seeing Obama??

Obamie of the Windy Arts

Greetings dear chums, I have been traveling a bit and unlike so many intrepid bloggers I don't find time to give you a hour by hour, or even day by day for that matter of my many pungent observations, although I know that by not doing so I have deprived the world...

But that doesn't mean I don't remain your ever faithful reporter.

In addition to miles and miles of interstate highways I actually saw miles and miles of high tech windmills, some even turning and a hi-voltage transmission line going off into the distance. I was cheered by that. And the fact that wind was about 35 knots may have played a hand in it. Knowing the area I also know that you can have:

Day after day, day after day,
We stuck, nor breath nor motion;
As idle as a painted ship
Upon a painted ocean.
-- "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner," Samuel Taylor Coleridge

I mean I hate to be just so ungreen, but facts be facts. The wind doesn't blow all the times, and I just don't see how you can have a modern society based on energy sources that depend on temperature gradients and air pressure differentials.... And every time I bring this up, someone always starts talking about it working 90% of the time... battery storage.... etc., etc., etc.

One group of us is stupid and I don't think it is me and my group. Especially with Obamie talking about 10 million plug-in electric cars hitting the grid in 5 years. That means we are going to have to overbuild like crazy and we can't afford to overbuild in places that won't provide us a reliable supply of electricity.

The other point is that you can't just transmit electric energy over unlimited distances. Electric cables have resistance and resistance causes power losses.

Yes chums, even Obamie can not repeal Ohm's Law.

Get off your knees President Obama!!!!!!!

Obamie is either dumb or surrendering... or maybe both.

The following was sent to Iran with absolutely no fan fare within the us. You will see why. While we worry 24/7 over money, he is surrendering to Iran.

See the video link. His tone and posture is as a supplicant. What a shame. How disgusting.

"I would like to speak directly to the people and leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran," Obama said in a conciliatory tone that contrasted sharply with Bush's hardline approach. "We seek the promise of a new beginning."

Obama's willingness to talk to U.S. enemies like Iran has been welcomed internationally as a departure from what many saw as Bush's go-it-alone "cowboy diplomacy" epitomized by the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.

And what has Iran replied?

Ali-Akbar Javan-Fekr said: "The U.S. must atone for it's past mistakes toward the Islamic Republic of Iran and must make fundamental changes in it's policy. Differences between the U.S. and the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to exist for as long as Washington continues to blindly support the evil regime of Israel."

Ahmadinejad's spokesman also added: "The United States must discontinue it's violent behavior, it must stop arresting Muslims and must stop supporting terrorist groups around the world!"

The sentence in bold expresses the same thing today as bin Ladin said 12 years ago this month in his interview with Peter Arnett, then of CNN.

Transcript of Osama Bin Ladin interview by Peter Arnett

REPORTER: Mr. Bin Ladin, will the end of the United States' presence in Saudi Arabia, their withdrawal, will that end your call for jihad against the United States and against the US ?

BIN LADIN:... So, the driving-away jihad against the US does not stop with its withdrawal from the Arabian peninsula, but rather it must desist from aggressive intervention against Muslims in the whole world.

You know, Bush may not have captured bin Ladin, but he didn't offer to kiss his ass.

Obama's Plan to destroy veteran's insurance

Mike L has sent me an email containing information on Obamie’s plan to change the medical insurance program for veterans. It’s been kicking around the Internet for several days and has raised a stink.

Some of you know that I spent 10 years in Naval Aviation and still have very good friends who I served with, and some who retired. Some I served with never made it to retirement. One lies where we do not know and two others never saw their children grow up.

Others are dying at a natural rate and others I see from time to remember how wonderful it was to be young and celebrate our saving democracy from the Soviets. I trust you will pardon that bit of humor, but humor is one of the few things old men still can have.

So the military and how it is treated is of high interest to me, as it should be to every US citizen.

I never got around to commenting on this because it was being covered everywhere, and now that my anger has lowered to the point where I just won’t rant, it appears that Obamie of the Unknown Kingdom has wisely decided to withdraw.

But he will be back. That’s the way the Lefties work. When they hit fierce resistance they slink away and then come back. Again and again.

So to all of you who voted for this walking disaster to our country, I ask this question.

Do you support his plan to make veterans with service connected injuries who have private insurance pay??

It’s a simple question.

Pin the tail on Barney

The video that had disappeared like magic has reappeared. In it O'Reilly does an admirable job of pointing out to Barney that Barney screwed the pooch in July 2008and recommended Fannie/Freddie going forward, one of the worst, if not THE worst recommendation in the history of the world. Well, ok. Maybe telling everyone how safe the Titanic was safe was a wee bit worse.

What's interesting in this is that in Barney's sputtering defense, he claims that it was he, Barney Frank and his band of Demo donkeys that had the first opportunity to pass a bill to stop the problem after Obamie's Heroes lied enough to win in 2006 and take complete control of Congress.

Link to video. Pay close attention starting at about the 1 minute 50 second mark.

Now, how can you tell a Demo is lying? His lips are moving!

From an earlier post:

Shall we do something that the MSM can't seem to do? Use Google?

(From the source article) "The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.

Under the plan, disclosed at a Congressional hearing today, a new agency would be created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry.

The new agency would have the authority, which now rests with Congress, to set one of the two capital-reserve requirements for the companies. It would exercise authority over any new lines of business. And it would determine whether the two are adequately managing the risks of their ballooning portfolios.

The plan is an acknowledgment by the administration that oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- which together have issued more than $1.5 trillion in outstanding debt -- is broken. A report by outside investigators in July concluded that Freddie Mac manipulated its accounting to mislead investors, and critics have said Fannie Mae does not adequately hedge against rising interest rates." (End quote from source.)

"And before you say, "About time Bush did something," that was 9/11/2003.

Well, the Demos shot it down."

(From source article)''These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis,'' said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ''The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.''

Representative Melvin L. Watt, Democrat of North Carolina, agreed.

''I don't see much other than a shell game going on here, moving something from one agency to another and in the process weakening the bargaining power of poorer families and their ability to get affordable housing,'' Mr. Watt said.(End quote)

You know, what I can't figure out is why the LSM can't do what I just did above and show it to millions? I am one old ROF who does this in my spare time when I feel like it. Look! This is important stuff! This guy sat right their and lied through his teeth! Yet he is in charge of the House Finance Committee and will get re-elected again in 2010 by the unknowing and uncaring voters in MA.
