Who is Grace Jones?

And why should I care that she doesn't like Governor Palin??

Jamaican-born disco diva Grace Jones said she was sorry Hillary Clinton had failed to make the cut in the US election and that she "can't stand" folksy vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

The 1980s style icon, now 60, told German magazine TV Spielfilm Wednesday that Palin stood for a backward vision of America laden with government restrictions of sexuality and social behaviour.

And why is she a diva, much less worthy of anyone paying attention to her politics?

In 1981, Jones slapped chat show host Russell Harty across the face live on air after he turned to interview other guests and she felt she was being ignored...

In 1973, Jones played the role of Mary, a drug courier in Harlem in the film Gordon's War. Jones' work as an actress in mainstream film began with the role of Zula, the Amazon in the 1984 film Conan the Destroyer alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain. She next landed the role of May Day in the 1985 James Bond movie A View to a Kill.

It must be the body of serious artistic work she has completed....

No.....perhaps it is this...

Jones recorded two albums during the 1990s but they remain unreleased thus far

I think we can make that an aging diva..

On TalkLeft, a left wing blog I sometimes hangout at one of the commentators opined that Joe the Plumber's foreign policy/political opinions are equal to are better than the average icon "star" of the Left. I think his moniker is WileCoyote.... I know he was right.

Australia gets Internet censorship ready

The road to hell is always paved with good intentions.

If they can block these then they can block anything. That would also be news amd information critical of the government.

AUSTRALIA will join China in implementing mandatory censoring of the internet under plans put forward by the Federal Government.

The revelations emerge as US tech giants Google, Microsoft and Yahoo, and a coalition of human rights and other groups unveiled a code of conduct aimed at safeguarding online freedom of speech and privacy.

The government has declared it will not let internet users opt out of the proposed national internet filter.

The plan was first created as a way to combat child pronography and adult content, but could be extended to include controversial websites on euthanasia or anorexia.

Communications minister Stephen Conroy revealed the mandatory censorship to the Senate estimates committee as the Global Network Initiative, bringing together leading companies, human rights organisations, academics and investors, committed the technology firms to "protect the freedom of expression and privacy rights of their users".

Looks like Aussie's kangroo will be tied down, dear chums. Sad.

First October snow in London since 1922

Is it possible that God is trying to send us a message?

You know, it just can't get any better than this when the Brit's government is
debating on how to screw their economy even further up we have this:

Snow fell as the House of Commons debated Global Warming yesterday - the first October fall in the metropolis since 1922. The Mother of Parliaments was discussing the Mother of All Bills for the last time, in a marathon six hour session.

The US Senate has Senator James Inhofe, but in the Commons, there wasn't an out-and-out sceptic to be found. It was 90 minutes before anyone broke the liturgy of virtue. When Peter Lilley, in amazement, asked why there hadn't been a cost/benefit analysis made of such a major change in policy, he was told to shut up by the Deputy Speaker.

This is known as the Idiot Leader Syndrome.

Recently the American media has begun to notice the odd incongruity of saturation media coverage here which insists that global warming is both man-made and urgent, and a British public which increasingly doubts either to be true. 60 per cent of the British population now doubt the influence of humans on climate change, and more people than not think Global Warming won't be as bad "as people say".

This is known as the People Are Smart Syndrome.

Both figures are higher than a year ago - and the poll was taken before the non-summer of 2008, and the (latest) credit crisis.

In Seattle those are known as Green Tomato Summers. And I think everyone noticed the economy going belly up.... Except the House of Commons.

Arugula and Marxism. The Obama story

- On a sunlit Friday afternoon in July, Barack Obama stopped by Beverly Van Fossen's farm in Adel, Iowa, to speak about "rural issues." It was standard Hawkeye State stumping—until the senator took a stab at sympathizing with farmers whose crop prices have stagnated. "Anybody gone into Whole Foods lately and see what they charge for arugula?" he asked.

Unfortunately, Adel isn't exactly arugula country. "Someone near me whispered, 'What's arugula?' " says Van Fossen, 74. " 'You can't find that in Iowa'." Same goes for Whole Foods. The closest locations, reported The New York Times that evening, are in Omaha, Neb.; Kansas City, Kans., and Minneapolis. Whoops. Right-wing bloggers pounced. The dishy Wonkette called Obama a "super rich Ivy League elitist." Peter Feld, a former Michael Dukakis staffer, wrote on Powers-Point.com that a similar slip by his ex-boss—the suggestion that Iowans grow "Belgian endive"—surfaced repeatedly in 1988 attack ads. C'est la vie politique.

The above was written about 15 months ago during the primaries.

But it hasn't gone away. From arugula to bitter red necks clinging to their guns and religion to his laughing at Joe the Plunber while pushing his Marxist agenda we have come to know him.

Michelle and Lobster - Update

Or.... Do as I say, not as I do.....

Or... You can take the girl out of Chicago but you can't take Chicago out of the girl..

Or... I think a nice Chardonnay... say a Marquis de Laguiche Joseph Drouhin Montrachet 2004... Only $950 US. Would go well, don't you?

Hat tip to Jimmy M!

UPDATE - weeder gander advises that the Lady Michelle was not at the Waldorf.. OK.

In the interest of fairness I will take this down when all the posts are taken down that accused Palin from claiming her daughter's baby as her own....that she banned books...that she called Hussein "Sambo".....that her religion is like witchcraft... and that Cindy McCain's Repub Convention out cost thousands... I could name more but you get the idea...

In the meantime just ignore the receipt.... But not what she said because that is not disputed... and it matches Hussein's Marxist philosophy..

The question is, who is the "somone" going to be who will have to give up something.

And I know damn well for sure that it won't be Lady Michelle or The Messiah Hussein.

More proof that Obama is a socialist

And now we have this as another proof the Hussein is a Socialist. This is from the election endorsements of the Chicago Democratic Socialists of America. Note what they say about him.

Barack Obama

Barack Obama is running to gain the Democratic ballot line for Illinois Senate 13th District. The 13th District is Alice Palmer's old district, encompassing parts of Hyde Park and South Shore.

Mr. Obama graduated from Columbia University and promptly went into community organizing for the Developing Communities Project in Roseland and Altgeld Gardens on the far south side of Chicago. He went on to Harvard University, where he was editor of the Harvard Law Review. He graduated with a law degree. In 1992, he was Director of Illinois Project Vote, a voter registration campaign that made Carol Moseley Braun's election to the U.S. Senate much easier than it would have been. At present, he practices law in Judson Miner's law firm and is President of the board of the Annenberg Challenge Grant which is distributing some $50 million in grants to public school reform efforts.

What best characterizes Barack Obama is a quote from an article in Illinois Issues, a retrospective look at his experience as a community organizer while he was completing his degree at Harvard:

"... community organizations and organizers are hampered by their own dogmas about the style and substance of organizing. Most practice ... a 'consumer advocacy' approach, with a focus on wrestling services and resources from outside powers that be. Few are thinking of harnessing the internal productive capacities, both in terms of money and people, that already exist in communities." (Illinois issues, September, 1988)

Luckily, Mr. Obama does not have any opposition in the primary. His opponents have all dropped out or were ruled off the ballot. But if you would like to contribute to his campaign, make the check payable to Friends of Barack Obama, 2154 E. 71st, Chicago, IL 60649. If you would like to become involved in his campaign, call the headquarters at (312) 363-1996.

Now I know, I know Hussein hasn't said he is a Socialist. (I think he is a radical Marxist.)

I am sure the CDSA endorsed him because he opposed their agenda.

hehehe

Hat tip to NewsBusters.

Palin hanged but nothing unusal in that...

That's nothing.

Out in Gollywood some yo-yo made a model of Governor Palin and hung it from their home.

Yet the same people say you can't talk about Ayers and Hussein because that is racist and incites Repubs to do evil things.

I wonder if any of these people can spell "hypocrites." That's not a question.

But that is just par for the Left.

Click on this link and watch the peace loving Demo Left burring an American soldier in effigy.

That piss you off?

Well, you won't enjoy this New York Times story of a Leftie trying to spit on a disabled vet...

And then we have this from the Daily KOS via the WSJ.

That said, I feel nothing over the death of merceneries [sic]. They aren't in Iraq because of orders, or because they are there trying to help the people make Iraq a better place. They are there to wage war for profit. Screw them.

You know it takes special people and great courage to do things like the above...Reminds me of a famous Lion of movie fame...

"Put'em up..... Put'em up...."

Too bad Toto isn't around to chase them behind Dorthy's dress...
