...well if not a bud, at least someone I think would be a bud if we got to know each other, chastised me for calling Hussein, Hussein. He also accused me of demonstrating a lack of class in this matter.

As I noted to him, the issue to me is this. If he can dictate what he can be called, he can also dictate what questions he will answer.

That's BS.

If Hussein has a problem with his name, he should change it. He won't because he thinks that would offend the Muslim vote. I tend to agree. And I think that defines him.

Tonight at dinner the light of my life noted that:

"If not Truman," I replied, "at least Ike."

"Do you remember Mamie?" she asked in reference to Ike's First Lady.

"Of course," I answered.

I think it’s unwise, and morally reprehensible BTW, to declare war on multiple fronts against a whole class of people – Islamic Muslims in this case – when most of them have not attacked us and present no danger to us.

Of course most of them haven’t attacked us. After all, there are 4 billion Muslims in the world.

Is there a magic number involved here? Okay, surveys show that 50.1111% have attacked us so it is okay to respond??

Wayne’s point, one often made by those on the Left, ignores the fact that radical Muslims have been attacking us for years.

Also note that it does not show the attacks in Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, London subway attacks in London, car bombs found outside nightclubs in London, Glasgow airport attack, etc., etc. Also not mentioned was the attack on the El Al ticket counter at LAX, the foiled attack on LAX by capture of the terrorists at the Canadian border, etc., etc.

So I say that Wayne has a point, but blames the wwrong side, a rather usual position of the Left in general. It is reprehensible for the radical Muslims to attack the west.

Of course I am sure that Wayne will say that it was okay to attack Afghanistan but not Iraq and that we should have treated them as criminals and arrested them for trial in the US. Of course we tried that. We surrounded Iraq and told Saddam to step down. He chose to shoot it out. And that was a very bad career choice.

This is a clear declaration of war against the US, and the western world in general. It is unbelievable that it is ignored. The western world’s leaders, especially Clinton who had knowledge of this in 1997, makes Chamberlain’s actions look good.

So the war started long before Bush invaded Iraq. Long before.

But yes, Nancy Pelosi is endorsing McCain over Hussein.

That Norman Podhoretz “WW IV” rhetoric is a dead giveaway. And your obsession for war with Iran and everybody else except Israel is not surprising, now that I know where you’re coming from.

Like most other neocons, you went over to worship at the altar of Saint Ronnie of Reagan and you’ve been there ever since. Having voted for the rightwing extremist Perot isn’t exactly an indication of a change in philosophy. I admit that being for National Health Care, pro choice, gay marriage and drug law reform are not usually on a Republican’s agenda so maybe you’re an independent free thinker who just happens to always support Republicans and never Democrats. Like I said, there’s a lot of that kinda thing going around these days.

I also don’t know how voting for someone is considered to be worshipping them. Perhaps you confuse me with an Hussein minion. As I noted, I will support a Demo when one arrives that doesn’t think the country and western civilization sucks and doesn’t want to surrender to our enemies.

I see that you have no knowledge of the foot washers installed in a tech college in Minneapolis, the Muslim checkers who won’t check pork, taxi cab drivers who won’t carry dogs or alcohol, the school in San Diego who segregate boys and girls and provide specific in class room pray time, and then the honor killing in Texas.

If you allow the practuce of Shari law then you are being governed by Shari law.

If the “Demos Senate Majority Leader” has made “cowardly surrender statements”, please at provide quotes to support this statement. At least I furnished some quotes and my comments show I lack information, according to you. Remember? And how about some specifics on the episode where Democrats were supposed to have dispatched their “…House Leader to beg for peace from the likes of Syria.”

Educating you as to why the invasion of Iraq was a good thing is beyond the space and time constraints of this blog. As to the assistance of the Left to the terrorists I note that anytime you attack our troops that assists the enemy. For a real world example:

Call your Congressman

There’s an effort afoot that would jeopardize your right to express your views on public airways. Some members of Congress want to reinstate a regulation that was repealed 20 years ago. It has the Orwellian name called the Fairness Doctrine. Supporters of this regulation say we need to mandate that any discussion of so-called controversial issues on the public airwaves includes equal time for all sides. This means that many programs wanting to stay on the air would have to meet Washington’s definition of balance. Of course, for some in Washington, the only opinions that require balancing are the ones they don’t like. (Laughter and applause.)

We know who these advocates of so-called balance really have in their sights: shows hosted by people like Rush Limbaugh or James Dobson, or many of you here today. By insisting on so-called balance, they want to silence those they don’t agree with. The truth of the matter is, they know they cannot prevail in the public debate of ideas. They don’t acknowledge that you are the balance; that you give voice — (applause.) The country should not be afraid of the diversity of opinions. After all, we’re strengthened by diversity of opinions.

If Congress truly supports the free and open exchange of ideas, then there is a way they can demonstrate that right now. Republicans have drafted legislation that would ban reinstatement of the so-called Fairness Doctrine. Unfortunately, Democratic leaders in the House of Representatives have blocked action on this bill. So in response, nearly every Republican in the House has signed onto what’s called a “discharge petition,” that would require Congress to hold an up or down vote on the ban. Supporters of this petition are only 24 signatures away.
